The People's Hero Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 Generally I use the internet but... Times/Independent. I laugh in the face of people who read the Mail and go around criticising those who read the Sun/Mirror. It might not have a red top, but it's still a pile of sh ite.
Daggers Posted 27 September 2006 Author Posted 27 September 2006 Does the NME count? Why yes of course, just let me add it to the selections...oh damn! My keyboard just broke so I can't.

Daggers Posted 27 September 2006 Author Posted 27 September 2006 When it came out, they used to put it together in the space of a drunken weekend at the Northampton Chron & Echo. A little car would drive up from London on a Friday night, and out would fall the editor, the sub and the journo...in various stages of getting pissed. The first priority would be to arrange the whiskey on the desks before they would embark on a weekends binge drinking and bogus story making.

Ultra Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 The first priority would be to arrange the whiskey on the desks before they would embark on a weekends binge drinking and bogus story making. I bet that's not the only paper where such practices have gone on..
MC Prussian Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 I read two daily newspapers you've never really heard of. German names and stuff...

Monk Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 THe metro is fookin awful, theyve just started doing an evening version which has even more god awful daily mail articles in it! Usually buy the times or the FT, I did an experiment with the main broadsheets recently, and still find the times the best! Sunday times is ace.
Suffolk_fox Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 Amazing really, we all have internet access, I am sure all if not almost all have teletextso why do we still read newspapers? Cos without a wireless and a laptop, I can't really check news and have a good sh1t at the same time... Didn't know that story though! And yes, our course did get totally trashed every evening...
Suffolk_fox Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 The Sun Wouldn't allow that, or the Daily Star into my house. Not even as bog paper. Though to be fair, the Sun does have the best sources when it comes to footie stories.
cisono Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 Amazing really, we all have internet access, I am sure all if not almost all have teletext so why do we still read newspapers? Exactly what I was thinking!
cisono Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 Wouldn't allow that, or the Daily Star into my house. Not even as bog paper. Is that a British institution?
stez Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 Exactly what I was thinking! many many people don't have the internet at work, builders, gardeners, bus drivers etc we all need a paper to read at break time
Daggers Posted 29 September 2006 Author Posted 29 September 2006 The Sun I think the question was "What paper do you read ?" You need to put that answer into the thread "What paper do you look at and move your lips to when trying to read the headlines?"
lookwhaticando Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 Cos without a wireless and a laptop, I can't really check news and have a good sh1t at the same time... Go me! I've a wireless router and laptop. I'm set for life.
