dandannieldanok Posted 30 September 2006 Posted 30 September 2006 Leicester Mercury and the Mail on Sunday
MC Prussian Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 Just out of curiousity, which British daily newspaper is the most reliable/prolific/serious/objective? I'd go for the Times. Your opinions, please.
Darkzzz_ Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 I hate Newspaper's.... But if i do buy one i buy the Daily Star or Daily Sport. I also get the local paper the Kettering Evening Telegraph.
Simi Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 Am I the only 1 to vote for the Mail? Nope, I read The Mail.
Phube Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 If I get a paper I get the Mail... But I don't get one regularly!
Guest Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 I read other people's mail, but that's another question.
lookwhaticando Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 When in the UK last time, I read the Telegraph. I'd buy it again. Or the Times. I was exposed to the Express... I remain unconvinced by it.
Zingari Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 Toytown Trumpet all the newspapers are on line , as well as bbc etc , so i hardly ever bother now
BigGibbo Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 One thing I've never got round to figuring out is which papers are biased to what I always hear talk about some papers rooting for one political party more than others & some being borderline racist & ant-immigrant even. Can any one here use there experience to go through the papers in the list & let me know which have what biases? pretty please im actually interested!
BigGibbo Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 P.s The last couple of papers I bought where The Times but I haven't had one for a few weeks.

Left: Mirror Guardian Observer Independent* Right: Daily Mail Times Telegraph Sun Joke: Express Star Sport *Technically it's independent, but it seem very lefty/liberal judging by the front pages!

Interesting cheers On those results I think im just not gonna buy papers unless I fancy a sudoku or transfer gossip.
sdb Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 I wouldn't say the Sun is completely right wing. It goes between both but has been supportive of Labour for the last 10-12 years (under Blair anyway). A big Twat head Thatcher supporter in previous years though. You also forgot to put the Mail in the joke category
Stuliasz Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 I occassionally go for the Express purely for the laugh it gives you. There are certain topics that you can guarantee you will find in there closer to the front than proper news such as how political correctness will ruin this year's christmas, how Gordon Brown is spending YOUR tax dollars, how we are all being spied on by the government, Diana conspiracies, Madeleine conspiracies, how immigrants are taking ALL the jobs in Britain leaving our hard working nation nothing to go at, and finally how extreme the weather is going to be tomorrow and how they are noble for warning you about it first.

I never really read the main bit of papers (just the sudoku quizzes & transfer gossip) cos I don't know which one/s I can trust! there mostly all full of shit & conspiracies that can be damaging to the victims.
Durnerz Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 The Sun - where else can you read about a 12 foot long crocodile in someones bog? Oh and the Mockery
Flynny Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 Left:Mirror Guardian Observer Independent* Right: Daily Mail Times Telegraph Sun Joke: Express Star Sport The Times is a very balanced newspaper really. It's one of the only ones Murdoch owns that he doesn't dictate editorial policy to. I read it online all the time, it's fantastic. Express is as far-right as the Mail. Calling the Sun right-wing oversimplifies its position. It's a bit black and white and judgemental but can be slightly socialist when it decides to stick up for the working class at times. Very moderately right-wing, really. Mirror's very moderately left, Independent is actually very left-wing, too, which means the Mail is fulfilling its remit at the minute really.
Joe. Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 The Sun for the sport really. And the Leicester Mercury.
