Thracian Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~907955,00.html It may be diplomacy but it's still only half a story...does anyone know what Upton Steel's sponsorship of the West Stand means per season to the club? Or even an educated guess. And what does Sponsorship of a Stand entail exactly?

You are not seriously expecting the club to announce details of what they receive per season are you? If that were known it would allow sponsors of other stands, etc, to drive down what they pay if Upton's pay less. By the same token, if Upton's are paying more than the others, and they were aware of others were paying they wouldn't be too keen on paying a premium. With your sort of business acumen any club would be bust in a week.

And from where I sit all the stands are different anyway. But what I asked was does anyone know what such sponsorship might amount to?
Finnegan Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 In your flame-happy eagerness to troll Mr. Thracian, you've over-looked the contents of his post entirely. Firstly, he's blatantly accepting his own ignorance on the issue and secondly he asks for "an educated guess" - not Upson / LCFC's facts and figures for the year.

Monk Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 I heard they took about twenty quid for it? and free seats for all their employees...
Tomassi Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 wernt they the sponsors of our electronic score board at the filbo?
lildave3 Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 wernt they the sponsors of our electronic score board at the filbo? Yeah, they've had a board for a while aswell as being our sponsors at the masters. My dad used to work for them aswell, obviously left too early!
davieG Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Yeah, they've had a board for a while aswell as being our sponsors at the masters. My dad used to work for them aswell, obviously left too early!
Monk Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 D'you thhink if we ask nicely Milan might re build filbo? :pinch:
Foxhateram Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 D'you thhink if we ask nicely Milan might re build filbo? :pinch: it would be a dream come true, the Walkers is a bloody jinx ever since we built that stadium weve been getting worse and worse, there has been no good old days in the walkers. Bring filbo back and give us the money of MM and then the good old days, where the crowd used to sing and get behind the Team, and the noise was beautiful will come rolling back. Tears spring to my eyes when i think about the filbo street, and then i think of the walkers and how its made us in such a crap financial situation and the tears actually fall . All i can say is sort it out lads!

Oh FFS. Where were you during the promotion season, when we beat Forest, Derby and Cov among many others? Where were you when we beat Leeds 4-0? Or when we beat Spurs last season? If some folk on here had had their way, we'd never have left Vicky Park!
Ultra Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 The first season wasn't exactly bad was it? And we did get relegated at Filbo aswell Correct. Only TEN times, though..

Lucky place for me, one way and the other. Take football back to it's roots. Bring your scarves & revolving rattles and stand as much as you like!.

Nalis goal wasn't bad either.
Joe. Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Tottenham game- absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere was good, the performance was good and we beat the 4th place Premiership team! The cheer when De Vries scored in the last minute was brilliant. We want more games like that! Not crappy 0-0 draws with bloody Colchester... :pinch:

Stop reffering to that bloody Spurs game we went out in the very next round to a shit Kenwyne Jones goal. It means very little. Our overall home form since moving is shite. Not that I think it's the fault of the stadium paticularly.
lcfc_jme Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Bad tactics, sh!t players, 10 minutes too long per game and inability to go for the kill are all factors as well
Foxes_Trust Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Yeah, they've had a board for a while aswell as being our sponsors at the masters. My dad used to work for them aswell, obviously left too early! Also a shareholder of the club

You overlooked the post as well, to paraphrase " it may be diplomacy, but it's only half the story" implies to me that Thrac was saying the club should have told the other half of the story, i.e. what it was worth. Why otherwise use that phrase.
