We're on the verge aren't we? It's all on the edge, someone's just got to give it a nudge and it's take off or takeover in this instance?

Come on let's have it. I want this wrapped up by 6pm.

I welcome other bids, what I don't have faith in is the board to make the right decision.

RL are usually on the button and if there was another bid, Barber would have his todger out straight the way.

I imagine Sky Sports and all the other websites are reporting what the club have told have announced and that's that they are in takeover talks and that's with Mandaric due to the EGM on saturday where Mandaric's bid will be discussed at length.

:D A fitting way to start your assault on the big 10k.

I was making a serious point in an irreverent, light-hearted fashion though. The text of this is so unclear.

Reading the statement on the London Stock Exchange news site, you have to make such a declaration if anyone shows an interest in buying at least a 1% share in the organisation, either direct or indirect approach. As no statement like this has been made in relation to Mandaric before (to the Stock Exchange), you hae to assume that this relates to him. The EGM on Saturday will then conclude the negotiations etc...........

You have to say that this is good news in that the Board are going to recommend to the shareholders the Mandaric deal. The shareholder vote would therefore be a formality

Was business talk of restructuring, takeovers etc ever clear? Not in my experience; at least we haven't resorted to ripoff consultants yet charging 1/2 mill telling them how to run the business and save 1/2 mill a year, buggering off only to find out they end up losing 1/2mill a year. :P

But the club are not quoted on the LSE or anywhere else, the rules are not aplicable to LCFC at all.

Any thoughts on why/how that quote came about then SM?

The latest from Sky, sounds like a bit of smokescreening to me!

Leicester City have confirmed they have entered "very early stage discussions" with a view to a possible takeover.

The exact identity of the interested party remains unknown, although former Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric is the front-runner having bid for The Foxes.

Mandaric tabled a £25 million offer on November 1 for the Championship outfit, prompting an extraordinary general meeting for shareholders this Saturday about the next course of action.

In a bid to quash any unnecessary speculation regarding the takeover, the club have moved to clarify the situation by releasing a statement.

"Following recent press speculation, the board announces that it is currently in very early stage discussions which may or may not lead to an offer being made for the company," read a club statement.

Surely that means it can't be the MM bid, because that's already on the table, either that or they are smokescreening to get MM to improve/clarify the details of his offer.

Is it all Brinkmanship I ask?

I have a feeling it's the American based company whos put the late bid in. But even if they offer a million more than Mandaric i would still want Milan's offer to be accepted, because we know he did well with Portsmouth and has a passion for the game.

Err it's different bid - unless you meant something different!

Where does the Sky Sports story say that its a new bid ?

Where does SS get the story from - there's nothing on any other site (including the OS) ?

How can we be sure that this story is NEW - and not SS regurgitating the MM stuff - my reading is that it COULD be !?

Indeed, I read it as if it's worded to suggest that another potential bid is being lined up and the board are probing.

It's probably all just brinkmanship, though. :(

Which is a shame, because it'd be nice for the club to be wanted by more people. :P

Mandaric Didnt do well a pompey. Not really. He got them promoted and thats it.

He also Promiced a New Ground, Training Ground etc and he delivered non of them.

God knows, it may have been after the news was posted on an American Stock Exchange ticker ( heaven knows why). I think that there is a hell of a lot going on behind the scenes that us poor mortals will never be privy to. TBH, it's doing my head in. I was never MM's biggest fan, but I'm almost wishing he does take over so we can worry about football for a change.
