JoeyB Posted 26 December 2006 Posted 26 December 2006 Who do you think is the biggest transfer flop ever i personally think its shevchenko chelsea paid 30.8 million for him and hes played ever so bad scored 5 goals iirc in 23 odd games
vanfox12 Posted 26 December 2006 Posted 26 December 2006 Got to agree. I've got him in my dream team at work and my teams second bottom in a league of 14. Can't be bothered to change my team now as its very unlikley i'll finish in the top 4 to win any money.

Shevchenko needs games to get his fitness and sharpness, hes played regular whereever hes gone and with it being late in his career its twice as hard to find any sort of momentum.

I don't think that's his problem I just think he's past it!! Shevchenko was always about Power and Pace taking him away from defenders he was never that great with his back to goal, now he's lost the power and pace he looks a very poor player no wonder after years and years of Milan refusing to sell they couldn't wait to take Romans money in the summer!!!
Anish Posted 26 December 2006 Posted 26 December 2006 Juan Sebastien Veron - at both Man U (barring his first few games) and Chelsea.
Leonisco Posted 26 December 2006 Posted 26 December 2006 There's just so many... Bosko Balaban Asier Del Horno Juan Veron Mateja Kezman Sergei Rebrov ...to name just a few.
JoeyB Posted 26 December 2006 Author Posted 26 December 2006 i just thought about Ady akinbadbuy 5m it still makes me shudder
Kilworthfox Posted 26 December 2006 Posted 26 December 2006 Massimo Taibi 4 milion 3 games 11 conceaded back to Italy for now't = Biggest flop ever!
JoeyB Posted 26 December 2006 Author Posted 26 December 2006 Massimo Taibi 4 milion 3 games 11 conceaded back to Italy for now't = Biggest flop ever! and when he let the easy shot ever trickle through his legs hilarious iirc wasnt it Matt LeTisser who hit the shot?
dandannieldanok Posted 26 December 2006 Posted 26 December 2006 Jean-Alain Boumsong Pascal Cygan Bruno Cheyrou Eric Djemba-Djemba Kleberson Salif Diao
Bert Posted 26 December 2006 Posted 26 December 2006 Tevez. Everyone had so much to say about him, and how great he was, and that he was going to bring the good times back to West Ham. If anything, i think that the signing of Tevez and Mascherano has hindered West Ham, with so much of the spotlight on them, they've failed to perform.
Joe. Posted 27 December 2006 Posted 27 December 2006 Boumsong and Taibi for me. Remember when Drogba was being touted as a complete flop last season? Look at him now Shevchenko still has time to come good.
Finnegan Posted 27 December 2006 Posted 27 December 2006 Anyone who thinks Scheva has been a flop is a complete footballing idiot who refuses to look outside of the box. His influence on Drogba is completely undeniable and his performaces as a provider have been exceptional. Jose Mourinho is a lot of things, but he is NOT an idiot. If Schevchenko wasn't playing a nescersary role in the Chelsea team, he wouldn't be playing. Simple as.

Simple as. agreed . hes been doing a job out wide recently so he not going to score like he did for milan, sheva is in-the-box goalscorer and chelsea as a whole are not scoring goals like this at the minute, sheva is not a player who will crack one in from 25 yards like drogba, lampard, ballack etc.
lookwhaticando Posted 27 December 2006 Posted 27 December 2006 Mine's the biggest. Sorry. That's unfortunate. Have you tried Viagra? Cialis, perhaps?
lookwhaticando Posted 27 December 2006 Posted 27 December 2006 Juan Sebastien Veron - at both Man U (barring his first few games) and Chelsea. Spot on. How much did they pay for him between them? About 50x more than they should have. 28.1 million quids on his move to Manchester and about 14 million quid moving south. Incredible. What's amazing is... he went to Parma for 15m, then Sven signed him for a second time at Lazio for 18.1m. So in four moves, he totalled 75.2 million quid in transfer fees. Shocking stuff really.
MC Prussian Posted 27 December 2006 Posted 27 December 2006 Massimo Taibi 4 milion 3 games 11 conceaded back to Italy for now't = Biggest flop ever! (In)famously nicknamed "The Blind Venetian", cost United 4.4 million pounds and only played four games. Even Ferguson can't always be right. Here's the proof.
Ultra Posted 27 December 2006 Posted 27 December 2006 Michael Owen hasn't exactly been a raging success at Newcastle. Especially for the money they paid for him..
lookwhaticando Posted 27 December 2006 Posted 27 December 2006 Michael Owen hasn't exactly been a raging success at Newcastle. Especially for the money they paid for him.. He's not exactly been able to rage much... what with being crocked. Junior Lewis... Joe Hamill.... Lewis scores for fun now, and I'm sure Hamill's doing something football related these days.
