Louise Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 Porter Handed New Deal Leicester City winger Levi Porter has today signed a new three-and-a-half year contract with the club. The 19-year-old, who joined the City Academy set up in 1997 from local side Leicester Nirvana, has so far made 19 appearances for the Foxes this season to date - scoring three goals. Porter made his City first team debut as a second half substitute in the 3-1 victory over Ipswich Town back in August 2006, and scored his first goal in the 2-2 draw with Plymouth Argyle three months later. Thracian Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 Just so long as he's exempt from Press interviews that's brilliant news. Last time I recall him doing an interview he said he felt he'd fitted in, and wasn't seen again for weeks. I'd have put it in my contract - no interviews for any reason.

Cobbo Posted 28 December 2006 Posted 28 December 2006 Bloody brill I saw him last season in the ressies vs oadby Town in the Westerby Cup and he stood out in centre mid - but I always thought he would be held back by his size but not at all. Now all he needs to do is bag a header.

I wouldn't go as far to say that he has more than coped. For me he has grown into his role week by week but still has much to learn. However, he has shown that he is capable of improvement. I'm chuffed we've got him for that long. Well deserved contract.
