The Doctor Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 thursdays guest (canadian one) was fairly poor. the "Mock the 9 o'clock news" bit he did about education was just ripped from his act in Michael MacIntyre's Comedy Roadshow. the other guest was absolutley aweful. don't remeber her saying anything remotely funny in anyway. Cringeworthy.
Asha Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Not really a fair comparison.Music is way better live, whereas you want new laughs at a comedy gig. Yeah, sarcasm
Flynny Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 I've watched his DVD, it's not very good. He's not even very good for other comedians whose jokes are all one-liners even though his jokes are better - I just can't explain it. Doesn't work live.
morris1234 Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 the thing is with frankie, hes one of those comedians that rolls off joke after joke where as those who create links between jokes, tell different stories and in improvise to certain things (taking the pi*s out of somebody in the audience for example) are generally, in my opinion, better! it makes it more unique to your show when they do that aswell!

You do get some comedians who find an art to one-liners, like the Canadian guy who's on sometimes or someone like Tim Vine, but Boyle doesn't have that either, you're right.
Brainy Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Overpaid, overpaid plays it to overrated, overrated passes to possible racist, possible racist into closet gay, closet gay, GOALLLLLL
morris1234 Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 bit random but on the topic of comedians, anybody see that Tim Minchen Live the other day. Brilliant, really unique and clever!

Flynny Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Tim Vine is the king of one liners. His live DVD is the best, more terrible thing I've ever seen. (and cost me 3 quid). Really like him.
Libertine Posted 3 September 2009 Author Posted 3 September 2009 Stewart Francis just mentioned Leicester City. Random.
Webbo Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 Stewart Francis just mentioned Leicester City. Random. As soon as I heard that I knew someone would post it on here.

Asha Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 As soon as I heard that I knew someone would post it on here. It's ok when it's on something like this, I mean you don't expect Leicester to be mentioned on Mock The Week. It does annoy me though when on Match of The Day, Gary Lineker makes a brief reference to Leicester City and there's 8 new threads in the LCFC Forum with something along the lines of LINEKER JUST SAID LEICESTER WANK WANK WANK WANK WANK JIZZ JIZZ JIZZ WANK JIZZ WANK JIZZ JIZZ JIZZ JIZZ WANK WANK WANK JIZZ WANK JIZZ and a lot more wanking and jizzing.

AjcW Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 It was Hugh Dennis I'm sure. It definitely was. Cant remember sean lock ever being on mock the week this season, last weeks show was the highlights of the series so far and that joke was on.
