Kilworthfox Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 who actually thinks this guy is wanting to get a contract here? He never puts in any effort, and he can't cross a good ball for a winger! He has already been dropped and when he came on did not look any differant to his usual pizzle poor performances. 1 goal after 5 mins in my book don't make you a hero even if you THINK you are great because you have played for SPURS for 5 mins
Leicester Lass Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 His crossing was awful today. And no silky skills either

Maybes Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 I think yeates is a terrible player. He is weak on the ball, always tries to do too much and rarely put in a good ball.
Mark Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 Assisted for the 2nd goal at Ipswich? He gives us an option out wide that is missing when Hughes is there, or not because he time and time again he will drift inside. Not that I think he's great but he looks a damn sight better than Low/Sylla/Welsh/Hamill that we've had to endure over the past 3 years.
Simi Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 Yeates frustates me a lot. Aswell as Hughes. Yeates is so consitantly sh!t with his crossing but he gets in much better positions than Hughes and at least he stays on the wing unlike Hughes who drifts inside and gives us no width, which is what we need with Horse.
Kilworthfox Posted 24 February 2007 Author Posted 24 February 2007 Well I think he has more quality than Jarrett who you have rated highly on today's preformance which baffles me. My issue with Yeates is that he may have the tallent, but has yet to show any aptitude in a LCFC shirt which should be the minimum I expect! Unlike JJ
Matt Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 He had a good first game, ever since he's been crap!
FNQ Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 Can't believe this. I think he's done very well since arriving here. Should have started today.
Thracian Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 My impression so far is that he's a lightweight footballer. He has some skill but just doesn't impose himself. Nor is there anything he's especially good at. A bit colourless overall for a winger. But it's early days.

JoeyB Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 he's better than hughes, he will run at people, today his crossing was shocking, but all the other games he's played well imho

Leonisco Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 He's a bit of a rough diamond at the moment, with work I think he has the potential to be a decent player. He's a better option on the right than Hughes at any rate, at least he stays there.
Simon Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 Can't believe this. I think he's done very well since arriving here. Should have started today. I can't believe that I'm agreeing with FNQ! Anyone expecting a winger to win every 1 on 1 is mistaken. I think he offers us a great deal out wide. He didn't have a long time today, and I do think that maybe his confidence has been knocked by being dropped. But he does offer us a decent option on the wing. I agree that his delivery does need to improve sometimes though...
Milky Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 seems a bit lazy to me, and the less said about that polo neck the better. He does however provide an attacking threat from midfield which we desperately need.
uncle_connolly Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 Its because he didnt get enough time on the pitch today. Why oh why did Kelly pick Hughes (who was piss poor today) over Yeates?
Joe. Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 He's not a great player by any means but he's a godsend compared to having Hughes on the right. <_< We're supposed to be getting a winger this week aren't we? There's still Luigi Glombard (Yes he is actually here) who looked decent when he came on for a brief appearance at ipswich a couple of weeks back.
DB11 Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 He needs to have the will power, which at the moment doesn't look like he has got. On his debut he did well, attacking, keeping up with play and scoring a goal. He even did some pretty good crosses so if he could play like he did on his debut he'd be class

holly Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 i like him, think he does well! shouldnt of been taken off on tues and should defo have started today much better winger than hughes IMO
Wilkesy Posted 25 February 2007 Posted 25 February 2007 I quite like him as a player, i think he gives us a natural option on the wing although he often tries to do too much!
davieG Posted 25 February 2007 Posted 25 February 2007 Eh??? None of those players were at the club 3 years ago Try reading it again and highlight the complete phrase: He gives us an option out wide that is missing when Hughes is there, or not because he time and time again he will drift inside. Not that I think he's great but he looks a damn sight better than Low/Sylla/Welsh/Hamill that we've had to endure over the past 3 years.
Daggers Posted 25 February 2007 Posted 25 February 2007 Yeates may not be perfect, but he is better than our recent previous (and our current) alternatives. Makes me laugh that some people have so quickly forgotten how shite our flanks have been...Yeates offers us something at long last in the shape of a winger. And he sounds like a Wine Lodge ~ and that can not be a bad thing.
