My youngest son met his fiance on the internet and I confess to some trepidation and considerable parental safeguards being exercised when he first went out on his own at 16 to stay with the girls family in New Mexico. It turned out my concerns were unfounded, they had a tremendous time, and over the last three/four years since have since been back and fourth umpteen times enjoying ski/snowboarding holidays in the Rockies, Winnebago trips to the Texas coast, parts of the Californian tourist trail, visits to Boswell and much more. All cos of internet communication. The snowboarding experience led to his current 4-month trip to the French Alps where he's combining cheffing at a hotel with preparing for a snowsports qualification. So far he's tackled snowboarding, various types of sking and ski-jumping and sounds absolutely thrillled with it all now the snow's finally arrived in quantities. Their next plan is three months in New Zealand and after that another couple of months snow-sporting in Canada or Aspen, Colorado. Altogether it's been a wholly positive experience and exactly what I'd recommend for anyone wishing to get the most out of life. Doubtless you're older than my son and will have your own priorities but to me the Internet as a dating agency has offered nothing but adventure and excitement for my lad. I'm sure it can be exactly what you want. Good luck - I hope it works out . As for age and weight and marital status...you are what you are, laugh about it. There'll be plenty of others who won't necessarily have the looks or CV's of Johnny Depp (I mention him as my wife's favourite).
Dellyjo Posted 28 February 2007 Posted 28 February 2007 I met my ex that way...hang that's probably not the greatest advert! ! Mind you we did manage 6 years together. A couple of my friends have met their current fella's that way and are quite happy so far, one of them has even gotten married! Yes I think there are some idiots/liars on these sites but then that would be the same wherever you met them. Just trust your intuition & pick & choose who you go on dates with. Have fun

I'm not shallow and know that looks aren't everything, what I find attractive others may well question! I have had a couple of let's meet in a hotel offers though, but I suppose you get those seedy types in all walks of life.

I have had a couple of let's meet in a hotel offers though, but I suppose you get those seedy types in all walks of life. It might be a nice hotel.

EG: I use the name Frank ........and you could be ......say ,... Judith. (role playing even b4 a meet ya see ? ) But really , you do need to be carefull Kerry, dont jump in with both feet , and keep in mind what is really important in your life. By the time we met, we 'knew' each other quite well, and by chatting as much as we did beforehand, there was less pressure when we did meet! I married my first missus because I thought she was gorgeous and also the fact that she was 19 appealed to my ego. Taught me not to judge people on looks! With my current missus, I got to know her before I even met her (the fact that she was also really good looking when we met was a bonus!). Good luck with it!

Right click the photo and click on properties, this should bring up a box with the pictures address in it, copy and paste the address into your post, highlight it and then click the picture of a tree in the tool bar.
