Mikey Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 There has always a lot discussion about this. Who are yout top 6 best players in the world. Mine: 1. Gerrard 2. Ronaldinho 3 C. Ronaldo 4. Kaka 5. Rooney 6. Henry Just about right but I don't really know about Rooney, Kaka and Henry where they should go.
Spee-d Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 On Current form Ronaldo and Villa are the best around. If you're taking about sheer class and abilty then something like: Gerrard Henry ronaldinho Kaka Rooney Messi? Rooney and Messi both have potential to be the best in the world.
Bryn Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 Gerrard Will never understand where people get this illusion that he's in the top 10 players even, let alone the best. 1. Kaka 2. Pirlo 3. Ronaldinho 4. Henry 5. Cristiano Ronaldo 6. Eto'o Not so sure I've picked right, and they're not in any particular order.
JoeyB Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 1. Andy Johnson (our one) 2. Iain Hume 3. Hendo 4. Kisnorbo 5. McAuley 6. Josh low if i'm being serious Gerrard Terry C.Ronaldo Villa Rooney Henry in no particular order
Sods Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 Ronaldinho (he may not be is best but hes still quality) Gerrard (class player) messi (on his day a joy to watch) C ronaldo (this season his been awesome the reason why man utd are top) Henry (Still like this mans confidence) John Terry (what a rock)
dandannieldanok Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 I can't be bothered to list them because there are so many good players. I would have to plump for Kaka.
Spee-d Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 Gerrard Will never understand where people get this illusion that he's in the top 10 players even, let alone the best. What makes you say that? He is the most all round player in the world, no weaknesses and is probably moer influential to Liverpool then any other player is to their team.
Milky Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 I don't know how anyone can list a top 6, especially when you probably only see some of these players a handful of times a year.
Steven Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 Gerrard Will never understand where people get this illusion that he's in the top 10 players even, let alone the best. One of the few players in the game capable of turning a game round on his own.
Leonisco Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 I take it we're meant to be going on sheer ability rather than current form? If so, then: 1. Ronaldinho 2. Fabio Cannavaro 3. Thierry Henry 4. Kaka 5. Juan Roman Riquelme 6. Phil Neville

Bryn Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 One of the few players in the game capable of turning a game round on his own. When he wants to, but he has too many games where he is completely anonymous, particularly for his country. I can't argue with his performances for Liverpool for example the one in Istanbul, but technically he pales in comparison to other players. There are players who score more goals, while excelling in other areas, players who are faster and excel in other areas, players who pass better than he does etc etc. While I'm talking about passing, I fail to see where his reputation as an excellent passer comes from. Far too many passes from him go astray and that certainly isn't the mark of a good passer in the mould of for example Pirlo. A great player, but certainly not one of the world's best.
Thracian Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 Christiano Ronaldo Didier Drogba Petr Cech Thierry Henry (when fit) Ronaldinho (in the right frame of mind) Rooney (but I wish they'd stop neutralising him)
Fez of Mahrez Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 As Milky Joe says, it's nigh on impossible to list the six best players in the world based on your own opinion. You're basically relying on reputation and moments that stand out at the top level. Although they were roundly decried for their performance last night, once or twice Barcelona's one touch football was breathtaking. I've got to say there are a handful of players who always look a cut above whenever I see them play, the names that spring to mind being Torres, Messi, Villa, Henry and Rooney - names which others have already listed really. Others I'd be tempted to class in the same category that I haven't seen mentioned yet are Fabregas and Daniel Alves of Sevilla.
gangsta69 Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 1. Gerrard 2. Ronaldinho 3. Kaka 4. Fabregas 5. Puyol 6. cannavaro
davieG Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 There seems to be heavy bias towards Premier League players!
Geo V Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 Im trying to put these in order of the players I would pay over the odds to see play the game so players like Fabregas miss out because they dont excite like the ones on my list. Ive also cheated and gone for a top ten . 1. Ronaldinho 2. C Ronaldo 3. Rooney 4. Lennon 5. Ibrahimovic 6. Gerrard 7. Henry 8. Messi 9. Beckham 10. Riqulme If it was a couple of years ago players like Jay Jay Okocha would have been on the list with of course Zidane. Ive been saying it for a while now but that playmaking midfielder like the aforementioned are not en vougue and are a dying breed. Real skilful midfield players that many of the top European clubs used to have are rare now and its a shame because these types of players light up games. The likes of Lampard, Fabregas and Makelele may get votes from National coaches as there idea of players of the year but for me they are no more than bit part players compared to the Platini`s, Scifo`s, Socrates, Zico`s etc of yesteryear.
