City Fan Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Think about it. A new manager now could see the quality of the players, bring in some youth team players and have a look what we have, and prepare for next season. No point leaving RK till the end of the season because it doesn't give the new manager time to assess the squad and prepare.

Let the new man see which players aren't good enough. Let him sort it out in the summer.
Joe. Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 We're not going anywhere this season so it doesn't matter one bit whether Kelly goes or stays. Couldn't care less until the end of season.
Sods Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Im begining to think Newell is the man dont no if this would be good or bad.

lookwhaticando Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Deja Vu... all over again. Do we really have to have a "don't wait, pull the trigger now!" topic every week? While we're at it, I'd like to register my discontent regarding Elvis Hammond. Not because he's not exactly a natural finisher... but because he inspires a new poll asking how shit he is on a weekly basis!
woznotwos Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 i agree...trouble is.........who would you have on board??.theres no-one i can think of who'd excite me available at the minute.
Mort Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 I'd agree... and I'm starting to think Newell could be a good choice for the club, I'd trust him in the transfur market and I'd trust him to manage the player's egos while giving the younger lads as crack... he's not the best manager in the world but he's a million times better than RK!
l444ry Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Total waste of time sacking him now. Mandaric has probably got someone waiting in the wings watching events anyway. Besides, you wouldn't need to be Einstein to come to a conclusion about this lot.
Babylon Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 FFS some people!! If a manager is doing well, and lets face it we want someone GOOD so they will have to be doing well at their club. They WILL NOT leave at this point of the season. Think it through.
potter3 Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 If there was a manager I would like to come in available at the minute, I would say sack him now. But there's not, so we may aswell stick with him 'til the summer.
Geo V Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 FFS some people!! If a manager is doing well, and lets face it we want someone GOOD so they will have to be doing well at their club. They WILL NOT leave at this point of the season. Think it through. There are some decent unemployed managers like Keegan, Hoddle, O`Leary, Megson, Worthington, Robson, Graham, Reid etc. Im not sure I`d want any in apart from the first two on the list but the fact is it would be hugely beneficial to get a manager in place early so he can assess the squad now and know who he wants and who he doesnt by the summer. Also, I think it is so important to have someone in now to scout our potential signings for next season. If we leave it until the summer most of the pre-contract deals on Bosmans will be signed and even deals may be agreed in principle for "normal" transfers. Get the new man in now.
Fatbloke Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 well speaking as a "random person" I reckon we should all trust MM to know when to show Rob the door and also to decide who he want`s to replace him with, doing it now or later matters not a great deal, IF he has someone in mind and that person is currently out of work then why not do the deal now ? we can`t do a lot worse, however there is a small risk that changing now would mean the new man inheriting a team with a loosing mentality ane having a poor start to his tenure, very glad it`s down to MM and not me !!
Daggers Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 This thread is ****s retarded. The time to sack Kelly was in August...or September...or any damn month before a transfer deadline. The whole thing is simply ****sing irrelevant now. I reckon he should be awarded the keys to the city for his services to ineptitude...and spare keys should go to all you ****sers that have waited until now to declare him unfit for the job.

Fatbloke Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 No mate, just a random person who claims to know things but never spills the beans !

I`ll have a pint of what ever you`re on mate
Geo V Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 No mate, just a random person who claims to know things but never spills the beans ! So now you are going to keep reffering to yourself as a "random person" so we will actually realise you are in the know. Are you David Brent??!
potter3 Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 So now you are going to keep reffering to yourself as a "random person" so we will actually realise you are in the know. Are you David Brent??! He's Kevin Pressman
Geo V Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 He's Kevin Pressman Everytime Fatbloke posts I get images of David Brent telling that story to his workers that he cheated medical science to fake high blood pressure so they could keep there jobs in Swindon.
Fatbloke Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Aaaah, dont you just love the random person whow knows it all but never spills the beens and never comes up with an exclusive??! Whatever happened to the reporter who broke the Newell to Leicester move which was scheduled for the papers last sunday??!! Hehehehe yopu gotta love it! I`ll not refer to it again, the big problem with knowing stuff is that you can`t, due to the nature of football, tell anyone, which is pretty frustrating when you read things on here that are blatently wrong and even downright insulting to people you know and like, you sometimes have to read between the lines and perhaps trust "guesses" and predictions, but even things that are virtually done and dusted one minute can fall through the next, making one look a pratt, it is as someone once said a "funny old game"

Whatever happened to the reporter who broke the Newell to Leicester move which was scheduled for the papers last sunday??!! Hehehehe yopu gotta love it! I`ll not refer to it again, (not for one second) the big problem with knowing stuff is that you can`t, due to the nature of football, tell anyone, which is pretty frustrating when you read things on here that are blatently wrong and even downright insulting to people you know and like, you sometimes have to read between the lines and perhaps trust "guesses" and predictions, but even things that are virtually done and dusted one minute can fall through the next, making one look a pratt, it is as someone once said a "funny old game" Ive got that David Brent moment again ! To be fair, if you were merely someone who knows stuff and didnt want to say anything you wouldnt make us aware that you were in the know in the first place. Im not sure what you want from a bunch of frustrated fans? Maybe you want us all to collectively say "please tell us" or something???!!! The fact is even the so called people close to football clubs who are meant to know stuff know fFA unless you are the owner, cheif exec or MD. Ive known people who would try to convince me they knew stuff about West Ham and the source ended up being a tea lady who talked to the players. That elevated her to "in the know" status in her eyes the dosey cow! Anyway, you keep it all to yourself but try not to burst with all that vital information!!!
Michael Doyle Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 Were any of you calling for RK sacking this time last year? Or were you celebrating his efforts in keeping us up and more importantly out of administration. He may or may not be the Manager next season but we owe him a lot more than this "sack him now" attitude. Getting out of a lesser league is one thing but if we had gone down last season we would have no doubt gone into administration and getting out of that is another thing altogether. COME ON YOU MIGHTY FOXES MadMick
Daggers Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 Aaaah, dont you just love the random person whow knows it all but never spills the beens and never comes up with an exclusive??! I can't help but think that if you knew your beans then you'd at least know how to spell them
lookwhaticando Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 There are some decent unemployed managers like Keegan, Hoddle, O`Leary, Megson, Worthington, Robson, Graham, Reid etc. Deary deary me! There's only two, perhaps three managers in that list that I'd accept here at city... the rest can fook off. O'Dreary for christs sakes! What's he ever done as manager, apart from steer a very expensive team to nearly success? Hoddle... my god. People complain about the negativity here at City now... didn't Hoddle manage the most draws last season? Reid... Graham... Megson... Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. If these names are your definition of decent, your missus or family will be carting you off to the funny farm before long!
