Koke Posted 29 March 2007 Posted 29 March 2007 What a world-class goal by Nugent, 35 yards out. Eat your heart our Heskey.

lookwhaticando Posted 29 March 2007 Posted 29 March 2007 Love the McClaren interview... Spooky words he used. At half time he told them they had to "stick together" (bet you've heard that one before!) He had "tremendous support from the players, the staff..." (my pets, my lover, my children... everyone but the fans) Bet you've also heard that second one before.
lookwhaticando Posted 29 March 2007 Posted 29 March 2007 Turns out, the players who weren't playing scuttled off into the dressing room before half-time due to fears over their safety... Some of England's squad had to be moved for their own safety during the match against Andorra, BBC Sport has learned. BBC Sport Classic. Just shows you how bad we must have been in the first half if they had to remove non-playing players away from the stands before the half-time whistle went.
Bryn Posted 29 March 2007 Posted 29 March 2007 ...but then he sent a pass astray, got roundly boo'd and you could see him physically say '**** this'...and he legged it to fight for the ball back and won a corner. From that point on he stuck his head up and decided to start taking the game rather than being a by-stander. Some, like the idiots on the left wing, never got that attitude all game. He did, that's the point I thought I'd made but reading what I put I didn't. A lot of them did that last night. They realised they well and truly deserved the booing and pulled their finger out.
escape2victory Posted 29 March 2007 Posted 29 March 2007 I thought John Terry was spot on after the game. He said that the fans are entitled to their opinions and entitled to boo, but save it till after the game, doing it during the game isnt going to make them play better or improve the situation. Lets get behind them while they are playing the 90 minutes. Save the booing till the final whistle. We all know that McLaren isnt the man, but he is going to be given the opportunity to fail by the FA, so we might as well get behind him. We will qualify, just on the logic that we have better players than the other teams in our group. But we wont get past the 1/4 finals in 2008, and i dont think we would regardless of who we have as manager. We lack a class striker who has a presence and can lead the line. Someone like Drogba or Berbatov !. Owen is finished IMO. Bent, Crouch, Nugent and Johnson are not international class. Defoe IMO is the best English striker available, but as with most small strikers plays better with a big man alongside him, but Rooney plays deep and isnt a target man so it leaves small strikers isolated playing upfront for England. Dean Ashton could be the solution, see how he gets on next season.

They full well deserved to be booed all game long, they were making a mockery out of all of us, weren't trying at all and we playing the most awful half of football I've ever seen an England team play. They thoroughly deserved the boos and I think that they cannot complain in the slightest. I feel the boos could only make them play better, because I'd be ashamed to make as much money as they do to play so badly. I also think Defoe is equally as poor as the other 4 strikers you mentioned, and that Ashton probably won't make a lot of difference.
Stevosevic Posted 29 March 2007 Posted 29 March 2007 Thank God I saw the 300 last night... great film, loads of attacking and 'characters' literally dying for the cause!! i'm sorry but 300 is a poor film, i walked out after 60minutes and people left before me.
Guest Gist Posted 29 March 2007 Posted 29 March 2007 i'm sorry but 300 is a poor film, i walked out after 60minutes and people left before me. I thought it was good Why walk out just before it starts to pick up?
lcfc_jme Posted 29 March 2007 Posted 29 March 2007 i'm sorry but 300 is a poor film, i walked out after 60minutes and people left before me. The mrs wants to see 300, I wish to see I Want Candy.. Which would you recommend?

If the Scotland captain came out with that kind of shite he'd be lynched. John Terry the pandered f'ckn nonce, if you can't score against the equivilent of a Senior League team when your entire starting XI earn more than the country you are playing then you will get stick. If you can't take if f'ck off and let a bunch of so called lesser players scrap their hearts out. What a grade A arsehole, I hope every one of them gets lynched by supporters over the weekend because they deserve it. So Gerrard is now world class
Stevosevic Posted 29 March 2007 Posted 29 March 2007 The mrs wants to see 300, I wish to see I Want Candy.. Which would you recommend? i havnt seen I Want Candy, but i would not recommend 300 to anyone. as soon as the giant rhinoceros appeared, that did it for me.
00rawat Posted 29 March 2007 Posted 29 March 2007 you bastard! i've recorded that Sorry man but what is with the swearing but The Apprentice was much more enjoyable then England were.

I think this was justified by the first half performance. Booing players while playing is detrimental to team performance as it makes them more nervous and affects their confidence further. Call me a little nieve if you want but Im still of the belief that when English players put on that shirt, they still give there all, and are still proud to wear the shirt. I personally will judge the situation after the home games with Croatia and Russia. England fans problem with McLaren goes deeper than just results and performances. They just dont like the man. Many didnt want him in the first place and seem determined to get rid of him. The problem being there isnt another standout candidate. I doubt O'Neill or Hiddink would take it now after being snubbed last summer, Curbs is out of it after his disaster at West Ham, I dont think Pearce or Allardyce have the brains for international management, could Wenger or Mourinho be tempted ? doubt it. I personally would like someone like Harry Redknapp, but I doubt the FA would make an appointment as radical as that

I personally would like someone like Harry Redknapp, but I doubt the FA would make an appointment as radical as that Ok. You are naive. I think that in the first half last night, the players were a disgrace to the shirt. And the problem wasn't lack of confidence, it was attitude. They didn't put the effort in and haven't for a while. Furthermore, I wouldn't boo a manager because I didn't like him, I'm not an idiot. I would boo him because his results are not good enough, which McLaren's aren't.
Phube Posted 29 March 2007 Posted 29 March 2007 i'm sorry but 300 is a poor film, i walked out after 60minutes and people left before me. Just because you didn't like it, doesn't mean it's a poor film!!! !! i havnt seen I Want Candy, but i would not recommend 300 to anyone. as soon as the giant rhinoceros appeared, that did it for me. I suppose you walked out of Superman when he flew, or X-Men, or Lord of the Rings when Bilbo went invisable!!?? It's based on a comic book, therefore it is not true to life!!!

Bryn Posted 29 March 2007 Posted 29 March 2007 It's both mate. Stop inferring things that I believe which I actually don't. (as in, saying I dislike McLaren, or I find that our players aren't good enough hard to admit. It's not hard in the slightest.)
BartonFox Posted 29 March 2007 Posted 29 March 2007 we scored 3 i believe Terry was on about the first 45 minutes Fourth behind Croatia, Isreal and Russia
Mort Posted 29 March 2007 Posted 29 March 2007 The mrs wants to see 300, I wish to see I Want Candy.. Which would you recommend? I liked 300, the word "romp" should be throw in when describing it... lots of blood, lots of action, a healthy dose of sex and cartoon heroes and villans, what more could you ask for from two hours entertainment?
