davieG Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 From OS Hume Backs Fans To Win Battle Iain Hume says the Blue Army can be City's twelfth man when they take on Derby County at the Walkers Stadium on Good Friday (2:45pm). With Derby selling out their full allocation of 3,200 tickets, there looks set to be another 25,000-plus crowd inside City's home for the game. Leicester go into the contest on the back of a six match winless run - although they have lost just once in their last five outings at home. And Hume believes that with the backing of the fans the Foxes can spring a surprise on the promotion chasing Rams. He said: "If there is a crowd of 25,000 in the Walkers on Friday then 22,000 of our supporters should drown the Derby fans out. "If they can come out and make themselves heard, as they have done even when we haven't been playing well, it will definitely help us on the pitch. There is no doubt about that. "Hopefully the supporters will keep the faith with us, and we will be able to repay them with a victory." Hume hit the back of the net in both of City's encounters with the Rams last season, although he failed to score when the when the two sides met at Pride Park in November. He added: "Last season I scored in each of our games against Derby, so hopefully I can add to that tally on Friday. "We had a tough time there earlier this season, and Billy Davies has obviously done a good job there. He's had a lot of money to spend, but from what I can see he has spent it very wisely. "They are on a bit of a roll and there is no doubt it will be a tough game. But if we can knuckle down and get the fans behind us I'm sure we will get the result that we want."
Thracian Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 At least he sounds like he wants to put some effort in and put in a performance. As fa as Hume is concerned he can say what he likes - there's never been any doubting his commitment even in during his lean times.

And at least he acknowledges that there have been times when they haven't played well. Humey for captain?

Simi Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Keep the Faith. Together we can make it happen. Don't forget that 'Were in it Together'. How can we be the 12th man when we try to support and just end up been kicked out. LCFC >>
lcfc_jme Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Don't forget that 'Were in it Together'.How can we be the 12th man when we try to support and just end up been kicked out. LCFC >> you can sit down, then stand up to sing your song, then sit down again. Repeat until tired. Or the end of the game. Whichever one works for you. As for Hume, I feel quite sorry for him really. I know he's a striker and he's there to score goals (which he isn't doing at the minute), but getting in to double figures with a team which gives service as shit as ours is actually very impressive. As is his work-rate and commitment most weeks unlike most of the other c*nts.
Flynny Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Humey for captain? Deserves considering, actually. He seems vocal enough most of the time. Maybe a bit isolated though.

Yeh that will be a great laugh. We don't want to be to loud, I mean we may wake one of the sleeping families. How inconsiderate of us. Making noise at a football match.
dandannieldanok Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Who is the next squad member after Friday who has yet to churn out the same 'get behind us, 'in it together' shite?
Mikey Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Who is the next squad member after Friday who has yet to churn out the same 'get behind us, 'in it together' shite? But I think Hume actually means it.

Making noise at a football match. By all means go ahead and be loud. Just don't stand up consistently. It's not allowed. It's worse than swearing in the Family Stand, y'know!

Simon Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Deserves considering, actually. He seems vocal enough most of the time. Maybe a bit isolated though. I was actually joking when I made the comment, one of those flippant throwaway things I do have the habit of saying from time to time, but the more I think about it the better an idea I think it would be. Kisnorbo just isn't vocal enough for my liking and Hume might do a better job, especially given how involved he gets.

Hume'll be around a few years yet, wouldn't suprise me if he was captain at some point, possibly sooner rather than later.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Look mate, I don't mind you singing, so long as I can hear Barber through my headphones! Please tell me you don't listen to John Barber while your at the game.
lookwhaticando Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Please tell me you don't listen to John Barber while your at the game. fooking hell! It's bad enough that I listen to bad football and Jon Barber... watching bad football and listening to Jon Barber... are you the kind of person who goes around sticking knives into your arms for fun? Or perhaps sticking red hot pokers up your own arse?
Geo V Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Hume is about the only forwrad player who looks like scoring so maybe its worth listening to him . BTW, if we are getting a beating forget back the side but lets start the Kelly out chants.
Mikey Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Look mate, I don't mind you singing, so long as I can hear Barber through my headphones! Do you sit in E1 in the kop?

filbertway Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 To all the people replying to flynny, I'm pretty sure he was joking
