They just said on Radio Leicester so I'm going off memory... He was signed by Spurs but never played, was loned out to Luton and Gillingham then signed by Dundee Utd, played for them 3 times and now he's ours...I guess.

I presume this means Arsenal have said no to a further loan or that Walker is worse than we thought/ better than we thought and leaving.

Pressman I imagine is in the canteen. ;)

Not overly impressed by the sounds of him. Having said that remember a certain Pegguy Arphexad? He'll only be back-up anyway, although god knows why we can't have Taylor for the season i'll never know.

Meanwhile Levein also revealed that Kevin Pressman could soon follow Keown out of the Walkers Stadium following the arrival of 26-year-old keeper Lars Hirschfeld.

"We have brought in Lars as back-up to Ian Walker and the intention with Kevin Pressman is to do a similar sort of deal as we've done with Martin Keown.

So only as back up to Walker/Taylor.;)

Hirschfeld Teams Up With Foxes

Leicester City have snapped up Canadian International goalkeeper Lars Hirschfeld on a short-term contract.

The 26-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur and Dundee United shotstopper will provide cover for Ian Walker.

Manager Craig Levein said: "Lars has been brought in on a temporary basis until the end of the season and it is up to him to prove himself.

"We want to see if he could be our back-up goalkeeper for next season but we needed to do something quickly with regards to a No.2 to Ian Walker.

"We have also got the Stuart Taylor loan on the backburner and that's something we'll be looking at more closely after the weekend's FA Cup game against Reading."

Hirschfeld, who has 16 international caps to his name, was signed by Spurs in March 2002 from Calgary Storm to provide back-up for Neil Sullivan and Kasey Keller.

The keeper went on to have loan spells at Luton and Gillingham before moving to Dundee United in August last year.

He'll do for backup wont he? Has got to be a better solution than banging Pressman back in there. It's upto him to prove to Craig he's good enough for next season ;)

How do you know?.. no-ones seen him play yet! Judging by his credentials, he seems very average to me. Pressman did ok here, and I wish we had a few professionals here like him who strive to improve all the time. Give our slightly overweight ex-keeper SOME credit...

Seems a strange one to me. He's not particularly rated in Scotland. We had him on trial at Hearts before he signed for Dundee Utd. Levein rejected him then, although I think we may still have had Annti Niemi then plus we had Craig Gordon coming through.

On a side note is De Vries fit yet? How is Maybs doing?

Hey thanks for the warm welcome to the site from everybody

here's some of my insight from canada lol

Lars Hirshfeld he's been around a bit he signed for Spurs in 2002 but never played for them been on loan at luton and spent last season at gillingham he's a canadian international and he's played more internationals than club matches

He signed for Dundee United in the summer but has only played three matches. Two league matches and one in the cup He let in 9 goals in the two league games :S

don't know if he's the best choice as a backup i think he would be better in the lower divisons but he's young so he still has lots of potential and i trust CL and his decision making and besides PieMan is gone now lol:thumbup:

does this signing mean Logan could be on his way aswell? doesnt look like he's going to get much of a look in. and to be fair he doesnt look that great, i cant remember seeing him play a game but the last couple of weeks iv saw him warm up with the coach before taylor comes out and the lad dont look like he could catch a cold. maybe and most probably im wrong
