Is this all injuries or tactical rotation. This team is look into like a 2nd XI Wow. Putting them into bat aswell. Am I over reacting here or could this derail our season?

I imagine we're not risking any minor issues, given the potential for lengthy spells in the field.

Glad we've got a few weeks off before the next one- we'll have Holland, Hull and Ahmed back for those.

No Roland-Jones for them, which is a bonus.

Or Kane Williamson. They side looks similarly threadbare. I wonder if some bowlers develop back strains before these Kookaborra games? Poor old Roman Walker has to come in and do a job.

Forgot he was playing for them! Bloody good job he's out as well lol

Interestingly, we've put Trevaskis in at 3 on our line up graphic.

Feel sorry for Kimber, he should be starting ahead of one of Wood or Walker

100%. He would definitely score more runs and most likely take more wickets than Walker, who is just not good enough.

Starting only 4 front line batsmen seems risky, plus the bowling unit looks seriously underpowered. Not feeling confident if I'm honest.

There have been plenty of occasions this season where they have proved any doubters wrong, but I'm really not getting good vibes for this one.

I think you’re over reacting but it is certainly a blow. With the Kookaburra ball there is every chance of a draw on this one but there’s still a long way to go in the season.

Walker went for 6 an over playing for Ivanhoe against Rothley yesterday. He's not really county standard, but hope he proves me wrong.

I wonder if a further dip into the loan market might be on the cards? Goldsworthy hasn’t played in the CC for Somerset yet this season.

An emergency seamer wouldn't have been a bad shout for this one

Not looking good for him so far.

As far as opening mornings after winning the toss go, that was an absolute shocker. Wrong call to bowl.

I suspect they hoped for a bit of movement. It's going to be hard work tomorrow. Wouldn't surprise me if this has been booked in for a draw. Would be called game management in other sports! It's an unfamiliar feeling, but I'm not averse to anything that keeps us at the top while we're down some good players.

No problem with Wood playing, if the coaching staff think he has potential then he'll benefit from the experience and the club will benefit later.

Walker is 25 in a month though and probably isn't even in the same bracket as Griffiths or Davis, looks down in the Sakande bracket of poor pace bowler signing which we used to specialise in. Would prefer giving Alex Green a go if he was available.

Kept plenty of grass on the pitch so I'm not sure we were playing for the draw. It's just done absolutely nothing.

There's also no pace in the wicket and the slip fielders were right up. By contrast the outfield is very fast so any edge steaked away.

It's all very well having the kookaburra experiment, and the intent as I remember was to encourage faster bowlers and spinners. But coming off the schedule we've just had, a lot of players are on their knees and counties don't want to flog their faster bowlers. Therefore it just becomes something to endure and an opportunity for quite ordinary batters to inflate their averages. Josh de Caires looking great on this, but he only averages 27.

Can only think we've bowled first as we're hoping Middlesex will set us a target on the last day.

It's a shame that the free ticket day is being played on a dead pitch, with a useless ball, whilst we are having to field a second XI bowling attack. Hard to see many spectators who turned up for this being tempted back, sadly.

Yeah it clearly isn't working. Our bowlers are faring the worst across both divisions today but you can expect more matches to end in a draw than not, with 4 full days' play.

Not a bad shout to be fair... probably the only way we're getting a result out of this lol

Great to hear Dermot Reeve on the comms, he's been through some tough times recently

Anyone who's read Paul Smith's autobiography, will know there were some wild times at Warwickshire in the 90s
