Well its an early one... so we can hope they improve, I'd hope to see us getting a decent string of games against one or two League One sides (Oldham, Yeovil, Forrest) away and then have one or two home games against higher profile opposition, that would be the best preperation for the season IMHO.

Ideally a tour of some kind would be good, but i think the squad will be changing dramatically so that might be harder, but Canada, Sweden etc... would all be good venues, followed by a couple of home games that strech the team a little more and bring in the fans (if we sign Murphy we can play Spurs  ).

Just so long as we learn our leasons from K*lly's shocking attempt at a pre-seaon.

heard through the grapevine that they are trying to get a 'glamour' fixture...ie Premier League team/Foreign team...hope it ain't Portsmouth!!!!

Is this Wortho's doing? Thought I read somewhere that he was preparing us for pre-season despite now knowing if he'd be there or not!

Yeah, he is.

I hope we play some proper teams, get properly fit to do so, play some of the games at home, don't insult the fans with the sort of defensive shit we played against Sociedad and pick a team based on those performances rather than letting supposed "stars" like Fryatt have a first team place whatever.

We never recovered from the mistakes we made pre-season last year - or Kelly's opening "Chosen Men" team selections - and I do so hate the thought of the same mistakes being made twice.

A canadian tour would be great! but i doubt it would happen, canada is hosting the u-20 fifa championships this year and we have some decent venues and teams that leicester could play. The vancouver whitecaps have entertained and beaten sunderland and cardiff in the last 2 years, also we have secured a match against the la galaxy when beckham arrives in la the expected attendance is supposed to be a sell out of bc place stadium which is around 60,000

I think that game is too boring. I wouldn't mind to see some good friendlies as I hope I'll be going to a few of them

The best bit about pre-season friendlies for me (and transfer deals) is that I attempt to avoid internet cafes when on holiday in the summer and just buy day old tabloids to tell me the results and the players we have signed. I then get home an dgo on the net to see we actually played about 4 more games than were reported and signed 10 more players than the rubbish tabloids had told me. It would be easier to go to the net but it spoils the fun lol

It's 11 days from the start of the season. The team are due to report back at the beginning of the month as well. I would have hoped for more of a challenge at that stage of the pre-season.

Maybe it will be one for the reserves/backup squad they usually slip one of those in about that time, last year it was Hinckley.

I'd like leicester to get a proper gritty pre-season in.

Not Rob Kellys Holiday like it was this year.

I reckon a training camp abroad would do the trick.

Forget Le manga this is a totally differant squad and time.

i always thought the scandinavian tours were the best preparation

Yup make them Chop wood for the locals, Run in the snow and end it all by running up a mountain and shouting MILAN!!!!!! several times to signal they have finished there training and ready to be a part of his revolution.

Your forgetting sweating them out in a sauna with the birch for a few hours before running off a jetty and into a frozen feord

I wish you'd stop mentioning that game, it was a friendly and not the be all and end all, against a team that defines grind and drains creativity out of nearly every game it plays in. They have very very serious weakness's up front and after watching that game and hearing about the game they played against Hudds I said they'd get relegated and as predicted they are in the bottom three atm. However their defensive record stands at about 10th in the league, they make games dull, and lets face it it's not hard to make us look dull is it.
