Mort Posted 1 May 2007 Posted 1 May 2007 This, for instance, is the brand-new Stade de la Maladière in Neuchâtel: Nice When you think back, it was the English that got our Tourism industry started in the 19th century, coming over here to cure in the Alps (especially in Graubunden/Grisons, situated in the South-East). ...or to get royally hammered and write lots of poetry before meandering down to Italy... bloody Romantics!
Webbo Posted 1 May 2007 Posted 1 May 2007 I'm coming!Would be great if I met some of the FT posse in the turnstiles at HT. Is there a way to get around the visitors' sector or would I have to go all the way around? Can't remember. I live in the Northernmost part of the country - almost entirely surrounded by Germany - and it's basically all flat, with a few hills here and there. Just like Wales. Then we have the lovely Rhine Fall in Neuhausen: And the old, peaceful city centre of Schaffhausen, featuring the old Munot fortress: Only downside is our current stadium: Basically an all-stander in plain sunshine with one large and one smaller deck. why would you want to come to a shit hole like leicester.
MC Prussian Posted 1 May 2007 Posted 1 May 2007 Nice ...or to get royally hammered and write lots of poetry before meandering down to Italy... bloody Romantics! Well, they didn't have an awful lot of Joyces, did they?

Thracian Posted 1 May 2007 Posted 1 May 2007 Who's doing the pre-season planning at the club, anyway? Is the club open to suggestions from outside? Would it be worth a try?I mean, this is probably only a wishful thought at the moment, but I'd love to see Leicester City arrange a friendly with my local team here in Switzerland (FC Schaffhausen), a team that is still playing in the highest league and has won against FC Basel and the current Swiss champion, FC Zurich, for example. We're not in such a bad state, after all. Plus, they wouldn't have to fly that far away from home and we have beautiful, hot conditions here comes summer. A game at the Walkers wouldn't hurt, either. Then again, I doubt many people would show up for a game against a team they've never heard of in their lifetime. Great idea - I've love an excuse to go back to Switzerland.
foxchop Posted 1 May 2007 Posted 1 May 2007 Not quite. Fancy watching your team from the comfort of your camper van, that's classy!
potter3 Posted 1 May 2007 Posted 1 May 2007 A tour of Switzerland would be very good seeing as I'm there on holiday If it were to happen I think I'd be slightly early to see a game <_<
Smudge Posted 1 May 2007 Posted 1 May 2007 You can come and play here in Virginia Beach ............trouble is we aint gorra team. The City built this place in 1999 for the Mariners at a cost of $11 miilion and its gone bust 6 times. Great shame as its the only purpose built soccer stadium in the country.

BigGibbo Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 Acrington Stanley, who are they?Exactly!!!! Have always wanted to play then cus I like there name!!! acrington stanley were one of the founder members of the football league back in ye olde days we would whup them
Lillehamring Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 of course, i'm hoping for a few games in norway; but it's always a good test as the season is only 6 games old here, so by mid summer teams are in really competitive shape, and the type of footy is also very english... ...and the beer is too expensive for any kind of shenanigans
Brainy Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 Didn't we lose heavily to Lillestrom, or some other Scandinavian team one year?
dandannieldanok Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 Didn't we lose heavily to Lillestrom, or some other Scandinavian team one year? 5-1
DB11 Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 I'd like to see a big team come to the Walkers. Like Barca did a few years back
Joe. Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 I'd like to see a big team come to the Walkers. Like Barca did a few years back Yeah would be good. There's always one 'high- profile' team that comes here pre- season.
potter3 Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 Yeah would be good. There's always one 'high- profile' team that comes here pre- season. Was it Real Sociedad last year <_<
lildave3 Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 Yeah would be good. There's always one 'high- profile' team that comes here pre- season. Chris O'Grady scored against Inter.
BigGibbo Posted 4 May 2007 Posted 4 May 2007 heloooooo any one here i feel like im bumping off the walls with the lights out
Mort Posted 5 May 2007 Posted 5 May 2007 I'd like to see a big team come to the Walkers. Like Barca did a few years back My suggestion would be somone like Rangers, Palmero etc... but i think two really tough, games at home would be great for the pre-season, after some more straight forward games against League One and Championship calibre sides... but starting with Cheltnham is a step in the right direction and a massive improvment on Kelly's summer tour of league two we had last year.
davieG Posted 8 May 2007 Posted 8 May 2007 Foxes Line Up Pompey Clash Leicester City announced their pre-season schedule for the 2007-08 campaign today - with a mouth-watering clash against Milan Mandaric's former club Portsmouth the pick of the matches. All in all the first team squad will play six matches during the pre-season period. The players will return from their summer break for pre-season training on Monday, July 2 before taking on Conference chasing Hinckley United at the Marston's Stadium on Tuesday, July 17. Mad Dog Posted 8 May 2007 Posted 8 May 2007 How embarrasing.. our 'glamour' friendly is a match against the team we got promoted with a couple of years ago, and but for a bit of luck would have sent down in our place that season.
Fox in a Box Posted 8 May 2007 Posted 8 May 2007 Saturday, August 4 v Portsmouth (h) 3pm .... boring....0-0
