What gets my goat, Where exactly were those penalties from sirs Lampard and Gerrard in the summer. Twats.

England players are just crap at penalties for England.

That's just the way it goes. :ermm:

At the end of the day, I don't dislike Liverpool. I admire them alot tbh, and I will be rooting for them in the final...

Pisses me off, Lampards especially, 45 odd thousand people booing the shit out of him and he puts it where no decent keeper will get it. yet he bottles it in a stadium where the majority of supporters are behind him.

You couldn't really expect him to nail the penalty in Germany when he'd been shit in the White of England for some months prior.

You got a reason?

because all the wankas at school who 'supported' them along with all the man.u 'fans' ive nothing against chelsea, im sure if I was back at school there would be a load of new breed chelsea fans 'who have supported them ever since they Mark Stein played for them'

"who do you support?"

"Liverpool"

"get to many games?"

"No never been a game in my life"

"oh right"

I hate it when theres a big match on down the pub (mainly soar point) and the place Erupts because Man.u have just scored what the fuk do these people get out of being this sort of plastic fan?

Exactly!

Was down the Dock for the first game, most folks were supporting Liverpool and all these middle class, southerners singing "Steve Gerrard, Gerrard..." why?! And then baiting some Chelsea fans who i happen to know are from London, gets on my nerves so much! Same with ManU...! Its not that i have any great affection for Chelski, but then again I've never met any "glory hunters" who back them.

A great win for Liverpool which they thoroughly deserved.

Chelsea were extremely poor last night and had they managed to win on penalties it would have been an injustice. How Mourinho thouhgt they were the better side is beyond me.

Hopefully they will go on to win it now

It just goes to show that its not just about spending money or having the best 11 players. Not many of the Liverpool team would get in the Chelsea or Man Utd teams but they still do well in Europe. If I was manager of Liverpool I would have punted out donkeys like Pennant and Zenden and think that the likes of Kuyt is no more than average but they continue to suprise all in European competition. As a Liverpool fan as a kid I am delighted they beat Moaninios bunch and look forward to them adding some quality players with the USA money they have and top actually challenge for the Premiership again.

Lets hope United get through now for an amazing final!

I'll go with 1-0 Liverpool after the 90 and them winning on penalties after no goals in extra time.

spot on mate!

a fair result id say

Yeah, they deserved to go through. I really hope they win it now!

I saw the team sheets, and saw the two most ineffective wingers since Josh Low and Alan Maybury, and thought they'll have to go up the middle because anything coming in from the left will be a hopeless ball that reaches nobody. True to form, Zenden never got much height on his balls - they were all daisy-cutters and knee-height fliers. Pennant was little more useful than that, but at least he got some height some of the time. lol

But once again, Rafa's baffling selection of players has won the day.

He works in strange ways, but who are we to pass comment on his selections when he keeps getting the results? :dunno:

Ever thought that England's problem with penalties is not so much taking them but saving them?

Ever thought that keepers can be trained to save penalties?

Ever thought we went out of Euro 2004 and Germany 2006 because Ricardo always seemed to go the right way (he looked for 'tells' in the takers movement in their run up)?

Mr Reina seemed to have taken a leaf out of his book last night (unlike Mr Cech who seems to think that sheer agility is good enough - Mourinho's claims that he is the best keeperin the world is now in tatters and rightly so).

Our appaling national record in penalty shoot outs has more to do with Shilton, Seaman and Robinson than with Pearce, Southgate and Beckham.

I just think that Liverpools strength is there defence and the centre of midfield. Everyone else is average! I cant see any of Kuyt, Crouch. Pennant or Zenden making the first team of any of the top clubs in the Premiership but when you have a central midfield to choose from that contains Sissoko, Gerrard, Mascherano and Alonso, you are doinga alright! Also Carragher in particular is a monster at CB and I cant think of too many leftbacks better than Riise.

I am looking forward to seeing what Liverpool buy this summer although I almost turned against them when a mate (and Liverpool fan) laughed when he asked me which division we are in and then laughed harder when I proudly said that we have £2-3m to spend this summer. He pointed out that Liverpool will be spending that on E`to`s signing on fee lol
