What they should do is a live STI screening and call it Maidstones got Herpes (sp).....I'd watch that.

You ever thought of applying for a job with the Maidstone Tourist Board? :dunno: ... you've got it nailed!

Why do you think I'm dating a girl from outside of the area?

Not been affected by the ban too much so far. Think I will give up smoking as soon as non-smokers stop whinging so much as I am probably more scared of becoming a non-smoker than of cravings etc.

I'm a non-smoker and this does actually irritate me at times - you have a point.

No need to constantly take the moral-high-ground etc.

I think its more an irritation with our health obsessed society than anything else.

I must admit the rebellious streak in me is always tempted to, er, 'rebel', just out of sheer perversity.:whistle:

I am a smoker and have done so for years. I know it's not big nor clever but I enjoy most of the smokes I have.

I know the risks and have tried a couple of times to quit and failed.

The ban? I welcome it - to a degree. I do get fed up with smokers complaining about the ban as much as I get fed up of non-smokers going on at smokers!

Quite frankly, it all bores me. Each to their own.

I don't like stinking of smoke. I don't smoke in my house.

But this ban is not going to make me give up because I am thinking about having another go soon anyhow.

Winter will be a bit crappy but the pubs that set up smoking areas outside will survive.

On a financial note, a mate of mine just got back from Dublin. Met a senior manager from Guiness who told him that Guiness may close their famous brewery / museum in Dublin because of the lack of sales.

Now that bothers me a whole lot more than the smoking thing...

For some reason I've decided to diet and up my running at the same time as well, my willpower is being stretched to the max.

Me too, you know why don't you Alex.

Because if we don't we will get fat. Or Fatter in my case.

Just wanted to say - all the very best of luck to those of you who are trying to give up!

Keep at it, folks.

you do realise if everyone gives up it will leave a gaping hole in the countries finances , and some other taxes will have to go up ,

get them bl**dy fags back in yer gobs quick ; i can't afford any more tax increases :(

I'm doing my bit!

Only because I have zero willpower.

Oh, and I can't get to the docs for some patches without wheezing!!

Taxes should be increased on RnB/Rap cds and on dvds of films like Too Fast Too Furious.
