I was shocked, looking round the pub at the proportion of people in there who were smoking. I never really thought of it before, just never seemed to be a material or an important thing to me... but looking round that pub, I'd say over half the people in there were smoking (and there were hundreds of people in this place).

My girlfriend is giving up - not that I imagine you care.

She used to smoke quite a lot. Has been a few days over the past week with nothing, but struggling to go cold turkey.

She's cut down anyway, which is good.

It's for the best people - keep at it and don't be ashamed to use anything to help you out - sucking lollipops, using the patches or just shouting at your mates!
