The People's Hero Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 It would be nice to see a match report though.Sly : 2 - Lazy, inaccurate, careless - and thats before the game had started. Never even threatened to do anything, don't think he even thought about it. Seemed to revel in being a chosen man and keeping a much more talented, eager youngster out, depriving him a career and a livelihood. He was to football today what Mona Lisa was to fishing and I'm talking about when painted by Ayrton Senna! He was like a cloud on a boat or a frog in a tea cup! Completely useless! He put me in mind of a young Alfred Hitchcock trying to dissect a live antelope with only crude, poorly thought out analogies for tools! Did get injured and go off though - so at least that's something.

Scow Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Scoweh : 4 - Why do players with no pace still get to play on the wing? Failed to support the full back both offensively and defensively. However, a sublime dragback which fooled two opposing players ensured a rating of 4 was reflective of his efforts.
The People's Hero Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 I just love the apparent smugness of the analogies, similies and imagery. All of which means precisely nothing and serves only to cloud the issue rather than to elucidate. Ah well. Perhaps I'm just not intelligent enough to get it.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 June 2007 Author Posted 8 June 2007 Fez 10 - fairly useless, hasn't played a 90-minute match for 10 years, didn't impress on loan at Mansfield but is still the key to our attacking fluidity.

The People's Hero Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 TPH - Nil - Did he do anything at all? I don't remember one telling contribution. He may as well have been sitting in the stands, but then even I get 2 points for my use of shorthand in my notebook. Can't pass, can't move, can't shoot. If he's going to play like that, I'm certainly never going again. In fact, I've just bought a holiday home in Minsk, Belarus. The only way I can describe it to those who weren't there is that he played today like Cinderella driving a fish through a field of Winston Churchill's memoirs whilst pis sing over the side and singing songs of yesteryear in a tongue known neither to man nor beast. And that's being generous.
filbertway Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Fez 10 - fairly useless, hasn't played a 90-minute match for 10 years, didn't impress on loan at Mansfield but is still the key to our attacking fluidity. Speaking of plasyers ratings, I'd like to see Thracians player rating for the game on saturday.. I can see it now, all the under 21's were brilliant, with the attacking fluidity of dodds and sheehan combined into one. It was the most enjoyable thing to see all 11 under 21's all moving forward as a unit pleasuring me with every movement. The only dissapointment was the keepers inability to get in and around the box every attack, but i'm sure this can be hammered home by me and other that were telling what he needed to do for the full 90 minutes. I counted 20 crosses and numerous shots on goal, at least 30. Over 21's - Pathetic, somebody ordered experiance again and too much of it, too lazy and too happy to accept loss of the initiative, were far too willing to sit back and allow the attack, which is unacceptable in my book. Alan sheehan, louis dodds, the next england wonder kid, a picture of a foetus i saw the other day, would have shown much more attacking ability, want and flair and would not have been scared the way those over 21's were. They had like 10 shots on goal, yes a third of the shots the under 21's had, and ventured into the opositon half a mere 15 times. What? The over 21's won 7-5? Now come on, let's not use worthless stats.
