Jay Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 From the news of the worldFRANK LAMPARD is reluctantly poised to quit Chelsea after contract talks between him and the club sensationally collapsed. Heartbroken Lamps wanted to see out his career at Stamford Bridge. But he is now likely to complete a move to either Barcelona, Real Madrid or Juventus — unless Chelsea make a dramatic and unexpected last-ditch attempt to keep him. But one Stamford Bridge insider warned: "That is highly unlikely. This looks like the end of the road for Frank and Chelsea." Lampard could even start to buy himself out of his existing deal under a new FIFA ruling — as he has served more than three years of the contract — and make himself available for a knockdown £9million. The news comes after an emergency board meeting failed to agree a new offer for the England midfielder. Lampard had gone public on his desire to stay at Chelsea but his hopes of a five-year deal look shattered. desire to stay? Heartbroken? don't make me laugh if he was that desperate to stay he wouldn't try holding the club to ransom and sign the contract for the paltry sum of £120000 a WEEK!!! that he is being offered it's a ridiculous amount to pay and I would imagine at least £100000 a week more than he would ever have thought he would get paid to play the sport he loves for what he says is the club he loves!! Fair pay to Chelsea not giving into his demands and not being held to ransom by a player whos England performances have proved imo money is the most important thing in his life
Mort Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 If he was desperate to stay he'd be happy to take the perfectly reasonable offer that was made by Chelski... but I'll belive he's leaving Chelski when i see it, this could all simply be chatter created by his agent to influence negotiations. At the same time the details that were suggested about what Terry was demanding for his new contract were barmy "nine year contract" and a "managment option" (makes Lamps demands seem modest by comparison!)... still it'll be good to see more english players playing abroad, as i think we miss out by not having many players with a knowledge of football outside of the english leagues (with the excpetion of the european competitions of course).
MC Prussian Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 If this is true, it'll make two greedy bastards; Lampard and his agent.
l444ry Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 It's hard to believe anything that tawdry little rag prints, but if he does leave he will be shown to be the biggest hypocrite on the planet.....what with all those badge kissing goal celebrations he is so famed for.
escape2victory Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Ive had many a dream about being a professional footballer and absolutely creaming Lampard. Two footed. Have some of that you fat, greedy, overrated, flash cockney wideboy

I hope he moves somewhere and rots on the bench.
Mack Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 He's an Essex boy, not a cockney!! I totally agree with those that say if he really loved Chelsea 120k p/w is more than enough to keep him happy. A move from Chelsea for Lampard would set his agent up financially for life and although I dont think Lampard is stupid, the fact Ballak and Shevchenko earn more than him is obviously the stick his agent is beating the Chelsea board with. I'm not really sure what Abramovich and his board are playing at these past months but I think Mourinho understands to be successful in English football you need a spine of quality British players running through your team. Without Lampard and Terry Chelsea would become another Arsenal also ran type team that gives away needless points againt the weaker Premier League clubs. IF Lampard goes then I can see Terry also leaving, and that would almost certainly lead to the exit of Mourinho. Normally when a player is holding out in contract talks for more money their agent will release all sorts of bullshit to the meida in an attemt to force the club's hand. It would'nt surprise me if that was not the case here, and his agent is hoping that enraged Chelsea fans will force the club into an improved offer.
Tubes Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 makes me sick 120,000k a week a lot of people dont make that in 5 years and the club pays their taxes

I wonder if, as a club owner, he would be keen to sanction such a deal.
Brainy Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 I find it hard to believe. Some of the things ive heard him say about Chelsea, it seems that he'd do anything to stay there apart from sign a contract that is
Brainy Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 I cant stand that kinda stuff. It's the footballers career. Bury player: Chelsea have offered me a contract. His Mrs: Don't accept! I'll find it hard to leave the area Bury player: Ok, i'll tell them to f'ck off. You choose, Lamps.

Mack Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 You have to admit that getting paid a truck load of cash to play football whilst enjoying all the benefits of a mediterranean climate must be appealing. It's possible that Lampard can see trouble brewing at Chelsea and he may not fancy working there under a new Manager, and there is also the point that if Abramovich ever pulled the plug on Chelsea they would be totally sunk financially. Persoanlly I hate it when clubs fortunes get inflated by someone with a big bank balance. It is a fals economy and is totally unsustainable in the long term in most cases.
Ultra Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 What goes around comes around. I'm sure Lampard would have made similar pledges of loyalty to the hammers, until Chelsea came calling with a large cheque book. But if he does move, it won't be that great a loss for them. Sidwell, Essien and Ballack are all quality midfielders and the latter two would walk into any team in Europe!
lcfc_jme Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Lampard will be no great loss from my television screen if he decides to leave. Strangely, I find myself agreeing with Ultra here about how Fat Frank must have made similar promises to West Ham until he was offered more English Euros to ply his trade at Chelsea. I personally couldn't give a sh!t if the overpaid, overrated moron ever played for Chelsea again. The amount of money he's on every week at this present moment is obscene, and if he's holding his club to ransom after being offered 120k a week, he's a complete and utter waste of space.

You're not wrong Ultra. and as for Lampard, well, hes a joker aint he?! I actually like the bloke as a player but the word 'ego' springs to mind here. I also think that if Lampard left, perhaps it would release Ballack from his shackles?

Ballack's arrival seems to have had an effect on Lampard's performances. At least, that's what some Chelsea season ticket holders tell me.
city1993 Posted 29 May 2007 Posted 29 May 2007 The cockney wideboy can fook off to Milan or wherever else, the greedy ****er gets on my tits and aint even that good for England no more !!
