davieG Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 Watford could make a surprise move for in-demand, MK Dons hotshot, Izale McLeod as they strive to add more firepower to his front line....Watford interest Overstating the situation I believe!
RedOnRed Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 Overstating the situation I believe! If you had a few buyers trying to buy your house you'd feel it was in demand.

Master Fox Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 Should I be reading that like Vincent Price would? These clues will help with your search for the great one...
Joe. Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 If you had a few buyers trying to buy your house you'd feel it was in demand. If teams wanted McLeod so badly then he'd be there right now instead of still at the McDons....
RedOnRed Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 I'm passing your code over to Bletchley Park to see if they can crack it.
RedOnRed Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 If teams wanted McLeod so badly then he'd be there right now instead of still at the McDons.... You don't understand, we don't need to sell him financially so he's staying put until we get the right offer. I would imagine that if that means he's still a reluctant Dons player past the deadline then so be it. The only concern we would then have is him leaving on a Bosnan, but if he helps us go up then so what. Realistically though, i'm sure he'll be gone prior to the deadline.

Thracian Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 It'll be funny if MA ends up seeing Odhiambo as a better bet than McLeod after all this.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 I'd have Sappleton/Odhiambo in front of Izzy and put whatever ££ we were going to spend on him, towards the creative midfielder we are after!
Kent Fox Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 I'd have Sappleton/Odhiambo in front of Izzy and put whatever ££ we were going to spend on him, towards the creative midfielder we are after! No doubt someone will throw in the "money no object" orthe "it's not our money" argument, but I tend to agree. If Odhiambo is doing ok and has obviously impressed MA, then why waste money on a Div 2 player. Don't know about Sappleton yet as I have not seen him. Good luck at Charlton, Izzy.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 MK Dons have just bought a new striker. Hopefully Charlton or Wednesday will step up in their efforts to sign Izzy now.
RedOnRed Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 Looks like McLeod is still on course to end up with Charlton... Charlton McLeod Report
Kent Fox Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 Looks like McLeod is still on course to end up with Charlton...Charlton McLeod Report Bet they play him when we play Charlton. Bet he fecking scores too. Still don't want him, really.

Do you think you lot might feel mildly gutted if he knocks a sh1t load of goals past you next season? By the way, one very noticeable difference that the Dons players are remarking about is now Ince is in charge we're changing our tactics from Allen's long ball style hit and hope to good old fashioned passing. Thank Christ! I couldn't bare another season watching hoof ball like that again.
Jimmy Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 i think the £1.5M would be better spent paying them to take Elvis from us
Mickey O'Neil Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 TBH, managers move pretty quickly when they go back to their old club to raid it for the best players. IMHO, I believe if MA wanted Izzy, we'd have had him weeks ago. That's not to say we didn't put in a cheeky bid for him (a sticky toffee with fluff on it plus 37p!), but I just don't think he was ever really on the radar. I might ask (email) MM/MA at the training session on the 30th if we had any intention of signing him.
RedOnRed Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 Hmmm, there's only one Elvis and he could only sing, make avearge films, eat burgers and die on the bog.

Thank Christ! I couldn't bare another season watching hoof ball like that again. I can accept that he probably will score......sods law. But that will be over 2 league games, lets see him in this division over a season before people come gloating. We've played some very nice passing in the games I've seen. Again, there will be times when the 'Hoof' is needed, & that's fair do's. You do what you can with what you've got.

It must have been because you'd had too many crap players, admittedly probably signed by Allen as I've not seen hardly any sign, if at all of 'Allen's long ball style hit and hope' and from our last few seasons there is no doubt I could recognise a hoof ball when I see it.

I dunno, we had players more then capable enough of passing. The long ball style we played was usually targeted at Platt with his height advantage who would then predictably lay it off to McLeod or who ever. OK, it did get us quite a few goals but boy was it not good to watch. Having said that, there were clearly times when the hoof ball style didn't work for us and passing on the deck would have been more advantageous.
