Blue Bob Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Philpott did alright for us though, didn't he? He used to frustrate the hell out of me, he didnt have the pace to beat his man and his crossing was dire. not a patch on oohh Tommy Wright!!
Lester LXXIV Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Coatsworth & Fitzpatrick, now thats a centre back pairing to be scared of!!
Dames Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Tricky Trev, he might have been a donkey but he was a legend.
The People's Hero Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Tricky Trev, he might have been a donkey but he was a legend. I'd take him back even now. I LOVED Tricky Trev. What is it though - that makes Trev quite popular and Elvis such a figure of derision. I know Trev is a better player, but there isn't so much of a gulf as all that?

BartonFox Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 gary coatsworth - not the worst, but king of the random hoof... Wash your mouth out. Gary Coatsworth is exempt from this list for 3 reasons: 1 - His debut - although shite he single handedly marshalled Mo Johnston and Peter Beardsley as we beat everton in the ZDS Cup. 2 - His goal against Luton - where had the net not been in the goal he would have killed all of pen 2 and demolished the Double Decker. 3 - His Alonsoesque goal at Barnsley - another of stunning proportions that someone of his ilk should never have been able to do.
Blue Bob Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Just thought of one that should have had a mention by now - god knows how we missed him - Spider Kalac - a legend in the world of donkeys!!!
Sly Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 gary coatsworth - not the worst, but king of the random hoof... I was informed he was told to play like that in the playoff final.
Sly Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 The legend that was Junior Lewis anyone? Junior Lewis was part of Martin Allens backroom staff at MK Dons I believe. I feared he was coming back here.

I know Trev is a better player, but there isn't so much of a gulf as all that? He scored a cracking winner against Derby.

For the above reasons, I won't hear a word said against him!
Head Honcho Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Oh Glory days of Pleat! ............and don't forget the genius that was Andy Feeley-Surely the most unfit player ever to wear a city shirt

BartonFox Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 yeah - all true - he was a charcter, as well - when we used to have characters in the team - tho he did have kinda donkeyish hair What balding with a 'tash
BartonFox Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 I'd take him back even now.I LOVED Tricky Trev. What is it though - that makes Trev quite popular and Elvis such a figure of derision. I know Trev is a better player, but there isn't so much of a gulf as all that? You know the best thing about Trevor Benjamin - he knew he wasn't up to it but it never once stopped him trying to better himself or putting in the effort. If that fool Hammond had 1% of Clarence's work ethic he wouldn't get half the stick he does. Trevor Benjamin will never get the recogonition he deserves for his contribution to our promotion season. His one man battering ram demonstration at Brammall Lane is still one of the funniest things I have seen at football. Peter Ndlouv completely splattered on the turf
Lillehamring Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 What balding with a 'tash er, well, it was kinda bristly looking....
Guest Posted 9 June 2007 Posted 9 June 2007 Surely Ian Ormondroyd deserves a mention Only in a legends thread.
