Season Ticket sales - so far

I renewed about 2 weeks ago now, and I'd be very surprised if we'll end up having less st holders than last season. However, every year a club like us is out of the top flight some fan's patience will begin to run out.

Haven't had one since we were in the Premiership last but have shelled out for one for next season. That sounds pretty awful but it was only a financial thing really.

I'm paying exactly double what I did last time. :o

Does anyone think Derby's presence in the Premiership will have any effect on the casuals and glory hunters in North Leicestershire and close by.?

After all loyalty and mankind are hardly synonymous.

I can't think that will affect season ticket holders. Casuals and glory hunters maybe, I've never lived in North Leicestershire.

Sure it will. To use a rather ugly phrase they are not "true" supporters in a loyal and passionate sense which makes it a no-brainer for them. Go and see Leicester play Blackpool or watch Derby play [insert Premiership team].

After all these sort of fans will for the most part be going to watch the opposition, not the home team.

I guess it's just an inevitable part of the game.

EDIT: but as Fez says not convinced it'll have any particular effect on season ticket sales.

Im in North West Leicestershire and can't see it affecting really...There are very few Derby fans round here, and the ones that are here, get the Sh it ripped out of them

I hope you're right

it's so frustrating that, despite things looking up a bit now, derby are doin well. They sold out of 23,500 STs yesterday, have got a new adidas kit and have (I believe) announced plans to extend Pride Park to 44,000.

oh well, we can at least take some comfort that they'll fook it up next season and that all this new-found success is only temporary. when they're playing burnley on a cold tuesday night next season after relegation, they won't have 23,500 ST holders. the lesson is

prem + new flashy kit + change of logo (they have actually done this) = glory hunters

:dunno:

They can package it how they like..still a bunch of sheep shaggers at the end of the day,and why extend the staduim to 44,000 seats?by the time it's complete the premiership will be a distant memory...I suppose if they play Cardiff there would be room for everyone to bring along their prettiest ewe for free!

You very rarely see Derby shirts in the Loughborough area. There's a couple of Rams fans at my college but you do see a fair number of Forest shirts out and about in Loughborough and there's a few in Barrow which is North Leicestershire too. Hard to tell in Loughborough though because half the people are students at the uni anyway so could actually be from Nottingham.

I re-newed a couple of weeks ago. I know the last few seasons have been dreadful but the signs that things will begin to take an upward turn next season are starting to shine through. I can only see us finishing higher under Allen, even if it's not a play-off place.
