In fact you can pretty much rule out any one who plays for Feyenoord, PSV, Ajax or AZ. So please no more silly suggestions.

and no it's not Jason Cullina either, he's Australian.

It could be a player from the fringes of their squad. Bearing in mind that Gudjonsson has played for one or two of those clubs.

It will probably be someone from that team that Connolly went on loan to that has a 'X' in it's name. Excelsior, or something like that.

Prehaps, but I can't think of a player any of them have who is Dutch, aged 22, and would join us.

Oryt no this guy is a huge name player, but his club are looking to offload him due to wage problems:

If we sign Nigel De Jong, I'll light a camp fire in the back garden and do a stupid dance around it!! Not for all the tea in China springs to mind.

We must have had a Dutch player before.

I can't think of one though.

We almost had Johann Cruyff. But then when he next went to Holland, we told everyone that Leicester is s hi thole.

Wan qa.

Ian Ormondroyd was 1/4 Dutch.

Martin Allen was today expected to land a Dutch midfielder to take his tally of summer signings to five.

And the new Leicester City boss could double that number of additions before the season kicks off against newly-promoted Blackpool at the Walkers Stadium on August 11.

The as-yet-unnamed player, a 22-year-old, arrived yesterday for talks with Allen - and negotiations were likely to be completed later today.

Allen and his backroom staff are working tirelessly to strengthen the whole squad, and have already signed defender Bruno N'Gotty, keeper Jimmy Nielsen and forwards Carl Cort and Ricky Sappleton during Allen's first three weeks in the hot-seat.

Asked how many new faces there could be, Allen said: “One, two, three, four, five. As many as 10.

“It's a very busy period but everyone is working very hard.

“With the help of (head scout) Lil Fuccillo, (sports director) Don Mackay and (assistant manager) Adrian Whitbread, we are out doing our bits and pieces, and being supported by (chief executive) Tim Davies.â€

Allen said City had received “tentative enquiries†about the players he has transfer-listed: Mark de Vries, Rab Douglas, Elvis Hammond, Stephen Hughes and Alan Maybury.

Douglas, who continues to be linked with newly-promoted Scottish Premier League side Gretna, has revealed he has received an offer from an unnamed club in England.

Douglas told the Daily Record: “The Gretna thing keeps floating around and there has been some interest in England as well. I've got one definite offer down south which I'm thinking over.

“There's always speculation at this time of year but I'd like something done and dusted sooner rather than later.

“My wife loves it in England and my daughter has just started school so there's that to weigh up as well.â€
