Daggers Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 Is there a League rule against the wearing of Zorro-style or Batman-like masks? If we wore masks we'd be Top 6 for sure.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 FROM THE WFC FORUMS: "Leicester have got some pretty decent players there. If they gel quickly, they could be a decent outside bet for next season. Interesting to see that after Leicester and Charlton, we have signed the most players. Most deals will be done when July starts as pre season starts then (Is is the 2nd of July?) and out of contract players will be sorted then." "Reading about Chambers' transfer to Leicester I saw who they've signed so far. Jimmy Nielsen, Bruno N'Gotty, Sergio Hellings, Carl Cort, Ricky Sappleton and Radostin Kishishev Jimmy Nielsen is a Danish goalie - a boom and bust kind of player - he'll either saw the day or lose the game. Cort was linked to us in January and Kishishev I believe was linked to us recently. N'Gotty must be 100 years old. The last two I do not know."
eaststandtom Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 I see us finishing 9th, play-offs maybe be a bit of a stretch, however if we were to get a few quality players in such as Hendrie, Clemence and Saganowski, who knows what we could do. i must admit that those 3 players would get my pulse raising a bit more!!! but 9th would be a big improvement!!!
Thracian Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 Relegated! No chance. We didn't go down last year with awful players like Hammond, Low and Maybury. Now we have much better players like Cort, Kishishev and N gotty also Chambers and Sergio could be pretty good or poor like Momo but its worth a try for pretty much free. We have better players, a manager with passion who actually cares and Millan and i know we haven't spent any money on transfers yet but im sure we will and really its the wages that cost not transfers. I dont think we would have signed players like n gotty, cort, kishishev, chambers, nielsen last year as we wouldn't even be able to afford the wages. You have got to be more optimistic this year and we do have a serious chance for promotion. I mean we haven't won our first league game of the season for years but we play one of the worst sides in the league Blackpool at home this time so maybe we will win that easily 3-0 and then go on and actually stick a couple of points or just inside the playoffs throughout the season. Unlike previous years when we have got to within 4 or 5 points of the play offs and then gone on a losing streak. If we go in with the attitude suggsted in your last paragraph we've no chance. The last thing I expect Blackpool to be is easy. Especially as we'll have a whole new team to mould together.

However Blackpool at home really is a game we should be winning, they aren't a fantastic just because they have Simon Grayson as their manager.
Thracian Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 No games easy. However Blackpool at home really is a game we should be winning, they aren't a fantastic just because they have Simon Grayson as their manager. There's no indication they'll need to be a fantastic side, especially at that stage. There are many factors which make the game tricky apart from Simon Grayson doubtless wanting to do well on his return to Leicester. Blackpool will be bouyed by their promotion and full of confidence. They'll also be determined to show they can cope in their new league and that often lifts a team. Finally, however good or otherwise City turn out to be under MA, it will not be easy to blend a team with so many changes and so many nationalities all at once. Football is littered with examples of what should have happened but didn't. An easy 3-0 will be wonderful but victory by a single goal will suit me fine after what happened on last season's first day. And a draw wouldn't surprise me because I think Blackpool are just the sort of side to provide a dose of reality after all our pre-season hype.
The People's Hero Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 What hype? I don't think anyone is suggesting it's going to be easy. You're arguing with something that no one has even said. Again.

Blackpool will be bouyed by their promotion and full of confidence. They'll also be determined to show they can cope in their new league and that often lifts a team. I actually agree with that. And with all the pre-season games we have (is there more this year?) and the extra fitness training MA will b giving out, I think it will be a tough game. How many thought we should have beaten Luton last year? I did and we were kicked all over the park.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 There's been too many Lutons, Rotherhams, Brightons, Nottingham Forests, Hulls etc for anyone with a brain to approach this match with anything other than the utmost professionalism and respect.

Obviously what you say is true but we'll be up for it as well, new team new manager big crowd we're at home they've just come up. It's game we should be looking to win. As I say no game is easy in this league but Blackpool at home is a game we should be winning if we're going to fininsh in the top half next season.
hoooom Posted 28 June 2007 Author Posted 28 June 2007 Dam! Saganowski has signed for Southampton. Im getting sick of all this now Millan says we are going to sign good players, then says watch this space over Saganowski and we haven't got him. I don't even know if we are trying to sign players like Eastwood and Sharpe. I still think we have a chance to make the play offs though and will always believe that even if we lose our opening game to Blackpool.

We're not going for them, we dont have a spare 2million to spend on fees FFS
hoooom Posted 28 June 2007 Author Posted 28 June 2007 We have a manager with passion so the players may take that passion into the games. Even if we don't sign any really good players and spend a few million pounds, as long as all the players have that passion, run around all game and try their best like Hume does then we have a great chance to be up there.

hoooom Posted 28 June 2007 Author Posted 28 June 2007 i still think we will make the top 6 and still easily beat blackpool.
hoooom Posted 28 June 2007 Author Posted 28 June 2007 So, Millan expects City to make the top six next season from other day's Leicester Mercury Q and A. Do you think we will make the top 6 and if so where. Who will be the top six if we are not heres mine. 1st Charlton 2nd West Brom 3rd Wolves 4th Southampton 5th Leicester City 6th Sheff Utd -------------------- E, I, E, I, E-I-O, up the football league we go, when we get promotion, this is what we'll sing, we are champions, we are champions, Martin Allen's our king!!!
Master Fox Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 i still think we will make the top 6 and still easily beat blackpool. I’ve agree with you 100% there. If we can overcome Blackpool we will easily finish in the top six. I don’t think the rest of the games count for much.
Master Fox Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 come on Tim! No need to get carried away. As much as a pleasure it maybe, you need to suppress your urges.
hoooom Posted 28 June 2007 Author Posted 28 June 2007 i cant help it come on tim come on Leicester lets get back to the general who will be next seasons top six now please!
Master Fox Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 i cant help it come on tim come on Leicester lets get back to the general who will be next seasons top six now please! yes, let's.

The People's Hero Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 Did you read the title of this thread? So sides who finish top 6 win every game do they? Please try to retain a little perspective and common sense. I'm pretty close to giving up on the LCFC forum and just discussing LCFC on the rare occasion with the good folks of GenChat.

I'm pretty close to giving up on the LCFC forum and just discussing LCFC on the rare occasion with the good folks of GenChat. Most people speculating on the result of our opening match here are the same people who are also saying that there is still a lot of squad/team building and comings and goings to happen...that being the case and in view of the fact that none of us has seen any Leicester team kick a ball in anger under MA or for that matter who is going to be in the Blackpool team come August the 11th how the hell could you even guess at the outcome?
