3rd Wolves

4th Southampton

5th Leicester City

I would back Charlton, Wolves, Sheffield United, Watford and West Brom in roughly that order to be five of the top seven or eight. I would hope that we will finish in the top half but other than that, I'm not going to come up with massive expectations this season given the train wreckage that was last season and the fact that I think we will have a comparable squad at the start of the season to a lot of teams in the second bracket of the division i.e. Preston, Cardiff, Crystal Palace and Southampton.

from The Book of Expectations

17.18

And lo it came to pass that supporters started creating unrealistic expectations and they did go "Whoa" and "oh dear" and "why are we not getting promoted" and "sack everyone" and God was not pleased.

17.19

There was much wailing and gnashing and the masses said "Smite the manager, oh Lord, for he has failed to deliver us to the Promised Land in his first season."

17.20

"But it is only June" said the Lord and raised his eyebrows to whatever there is above Heaven.

17.21

"Then tell us Lord" cried the masses "do you go commando or do you wear your missus' knickers?"

Nine times out of ten when a team makes so many changes, it does not have an immediate impact. I think it will be a tough first half of the season followed by a good latter half. I personally think a top half finish is satisfactory this season with an outside chance of the playoffs. Anything lower is very poor.

West Brom will disappoint. I'd worry about Cardiff and S****horpe as challengers up there.

I really wouldn't. :nono:

Especially if they sell Sharp.

Sheffield Wednesday are my dark horses this season and will be there or there abouts imo. As will Wolves, Charlton and West Brom. Then there are the likes of Watford, Sheff Utd, Southampton and Leicester, who should also be somewhere around the top 8. Though obviously much will probably change as the summer progresses as players and signed and sold. Tho Sheffield Wednesday as 07/08 Championship winners. You heard it here first

Charlton, Sheff Utd, Watford, Southampton, Wolves, West Brom, Plymouth , Sheff Wednesday and Norwich. Don't think we've got a sniff.

I'd say MA will be worrying for his job if we're not in or around the top 6 by Christmas, which I actually think would be a little harsh.

In reality, anything higher than 15th would be a general improvement on the last couple of seasons

Personally I'd be disappointed if we finished any lower than top half of the table

As long as we finish in the first page of the teletext table,id be happy with that!

I'd agree with Wednesday scene as they only lost 1 of their last 13 and that was against brum. Reckon we'll be top 8 or so!

I'm waiting to see how long it takes for them to bed in together...seeing as that could be half the season.
