Now they've been joined by Sanli Tuncay (Tuncay Sanli, whichever you prefer) and Aliadiere, either could partner Yakubu if he stays at the Riverside. Europe for the Boro'?

Tommeh Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 Relegation struggle for them IMO, Viduka got them out if the shit big time last season and they heavily relied on their home form. I don't think they'll go down but they'll be one of the teams living dangerously between 17th and 13th

One player doesn't make a team. And I rate Tevez higher than Tuncay, and look what happened to West Ham. Mascherano is also a great player, though they barely used him.

Blue Bob Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 I think they will struggle. Newcastle, man city, west ham, fulham and wigan all finished below Middlesborough last season but thet have or will spend big before the next campaign starts. Middlesborough havent. might be a 16th 17th finish.

Boro have got a few useful players but as a team I don't rate em, they'll be about 15th probably.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 Just to add, I really, really don't rate Aliadiere at all. He's a lightweight and struggled on loan at places like Celtic and Wolves let alone for Arsenal. If the Yak goes before the season starts then they are doomed.

Joe. Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 Boro in Europe? I don't think so. More like relegation material to be honest. With Viduka gone they'll struggle to score huge amounts of goals and even with the signing of Tuncay, I don't think they'll do much better than mid- bottom half.
Geo V Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 Clubs like Fulham, Newcastle and Wigan hav recruited well so far and I think Middlesbro have gone backwards. Woodgate and Tuncay ar egreat deal sfor them but they need a massive overhaul IMO. They have quite a few over-rated players like Yakubu, Arca, Huth and Downing IMO and I cant see them finishing any higher than say 15th.
