Quorn Report

He was another one I remember from my brothers team aswell, He was hard as nails even at the age of 8. Pretty sure he can play center mid aswell.

I played in the same team as Billy Kee a couple of times. Not at Leicester City but a vilage team. I can remember him scoring a goal direct from a free-kick just inside the opposition half. This was in under 11s or 10s football though so the pitches weren't full size but still he must have gave it some welly. Played up front for the under 16s last season but I think they put him on at right back just to give him some minutes on the pitch. You never know, he might end up playing right back for the under 18s next season if he plays like he did yesterday there.

Well I thought I'd give my version of the match report which is similar but different to some of the others::

Three players shone for City first half - N'Gotty, Kishishev and Weso - Bruno was imperious at the back whilst kishi and weso ran the park - they were both here there and everywhere. Weso was my man of the match.

Honorary Mentions go to Stearman who looked great at centre back and shouted lots of instruction to mattock/sheehan as they switched between left back and left wing roles. Also Cort looked to have a great touch and linked well in the second half although he seems a little short on pace from the Carl Cort I remember (still early days yet). Chambers looked full of energy and regulary burst forward in the first half showing some good inter-play. Eric Oicantremeberhissecondnameo looked pacey when he came on but clearly needs to work on the end product as he had a one on one where he just ran into the keeper and a chance to cross with three against one at the back and he missed all the blue shirts. Some kid with a bald head who looked hard as nails prob at right back at the end looked pretty tasty also. Mattock was pretty good too.

Average - Sheehan - can run around a bit but cant cross for toffee. Elvis - not too bad today caused problems but missed two sitters. still he scored and was useful enough. MDV also had a good run out. i dont agree he was worth a 7 but he was alright and has clearly been off the pies this summer. Morfaw - looked shaky at first but grew into the game as the second half progressed. Was playing in centre mid not left back which I'd thought he was....Newton - put some effort in but gives the ball away to easily and wasnt impressed with his crossing.

Worrying - Neilson. It wasn't just one flap at a corner it was several flaps at every corss into the box. reminded me of kalac and i was almost glad when rab came on (!).

Persoanlly I thought the little ginger kid looked a bit scared with the ball at his feet and just tried to get rid ASAP. It's clear from the second half that Quorn got on top once all the academy kids came on so we shouldnt be rushing them through just yet.

Nice day out, all in all

Can't see why Sheehan gets hammer for his crossing. It was his ball to the far post which DeVries nodded back to Hammond for the goal, he put another right across the face of the goal which someone should have attacked and although he did over hit a couple he generally loaded ball after ball into the box one way or another.

I thought it interesting how MA got Sheehan and Mattock working the left flank together and first half they did pretty well.

Sheehan's crossing is normally a strength anyway but his first touch needed to be tighter. He seemed to lack a little sharpness and will also need to work on his concentration which was wanting on at least one occasion and could have cost us a goal.

I thought Sheehan looked a bit off colour yesterday. Seemed to lose his balance quite a few times and not as composed as I've seen him before on the ball. I think he looked better when he dropped to left back and let Mattock play left wing. Match sharpness will take longer for Sheehan you'd imagine due to the fact that he's played very few matches for the last half a season.

Kee has always bin a tough lad, played against his school team around 5 times and all 5 times he crunched at least 4 people! Also got a shot like a rocket!

Like JoeB said, Adam Vasey is a good lad, used to go to the same school but hes left now as hes got a scholorship, He isnt the biggest of players but very very quick at his age, he won county championship 100m for 3 years running, one of the wins after slipping over at the start, he can carry a ball well, played out of position against quorn, then moved into centre mid, his usual position other than striker. As for oniel, dont know much about him but looked ok at quorn, reads the game well.

yeh morfaw played, central mid, didnt look to bad, shaky start but picked up and carried the ball well, later in the game

So morfaw definitely played?

No mention of him in either of the reports.

Played last half hour against Quorn, he was very assured in the presence of our youngsters and held the midfield together well, only really played simple passes but he knew his limitations and must have impressed Allen.

He sure let people know he was around and passed the ball well enough when he got it. In fact both he and Andy King looked very involved and assured when they came on.

Startling really. We couldn't find a midfielder anywhere last season. This year we've got midfield overload.

So did SUAS crack one out at half-time over just how amazing the whole experience was?

Before, During & after.

Did LD3 think it was snowing?

It was snowing.

I also have a picture of MDV's Buldge & apprently Rab Douglas is hung like a whale.

Yeah, we'll be well sorted when they change the Championship setup so we only have to play Quorn every week.

Did someone say 'getting carried away'?

Chambers seems to have really impressed. I'm pleased we finally have a full back who is effective, yet solid, and can also be creative.

Also glad to see Stearman in his element again at centre-back, he and N'Gotty seemed imperious.

Was Morfaw the lasd with long hair? If so he did look good.

Who is he and where is he from anyway?

He's a young left back from Nantes. He's Cameroonian.
