Bryn Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 City consider player offersby Andy Mann Manager Martin Allen says Leicester City are considering offers for some of their players from other clubs. But as he continues his pre-season preparations, Allen says no decisions have yet been made. Allen said: “We have a couple of offers in and are waiting on those. We haven't made decisions. Little bits and pieces, things are starting to happen on that side.†Allen placed six players - Mark de Vries, Stephen Hughes, Rab Douglas, Elvis Hammond, Alan Maybury and Darren Kenton - on the transfer list in his first few weeks as City boss. However, such has been the impression they have made during pre-season that he has since hinted he may have to revisit that decision. All the transfer-listed players have featured so far, and they are likely to play in the friendlies at Mansfield tomorrow and at home to Notts County on Saturday. Allen will take a mixture of youth and experience in his squad to Mansfield's Field Mill for City's fourth fixture. Goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen is the only one of City's 11 new signings to travel, while Joe Mattock, who played at left-back towards the end of last season, has recovered from his slight hamstring problem. There are also likely to be opportunities for youngsters Max Gradel and Joe Magunda, while Matty Fryatt is set to play in attack alongside Elvis Hammond. Allen said: “I think we have got a strong team to go to Mansfield. Everybody else who is fit will be in the squad for Notts County. “Mansfield work hard. Billy Dearden (the Mansfield manager) is very clever and tactically astute, and it's going to be a hard game to play in. “I am looking for a positive performance, keeping the same desire, intensity and tempo as they have done in previous games.†City (from): Nielsen, Maybury, Kenton, Magunda, Mattock, Gradel, Wesolowski, Hughes, Porter, Fryatt, Hammond, Henderson, Cox, Beswick, Garner, McKay, A Chambers, Howard. Looks like it's definately more of a game for fringe players rather than for checking out the main team. Anyone going?
Daggers Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Matty Fryatt is set to play in attack alongside Elvis Hammond Going? Not a fudging hope in hell.
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I actually think we'll get beat. Doubt it, Mansfield are even crapper now then they were last season. Their best player is one of our cast offs.
Fox in a Box Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 City (from): Nielsen, Maybury, Kenton, Magunda, Mattock, Gradel, Wesolowski, Hughes, Porter, Fryatt, Hammond, Henderson, Cox, Beswick, Garner, McKay, A Chambers, Howard. Whose he then?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Doubt it, Mansfield are even crapper now then they were last season. Their best player is one of our cast offs. And they've lost Limited Edition Orange (formerly known as Diet) as well.
wirralsimon Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I believe Matt Piper may be getting a run out for Mansfield. Simon

Joe. Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I might be going, not sure yet though Yep, seems like fringe players and possibly a chance for Allen to see the transfer listed in action together before he makes a decision on whether to accept offers or not.
Daggers Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=leicester...oward&hl=en No - I think he needs this link
Kent Fox Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 No - I think he needs this link Fecking genius, Daggers! Genius.
BartonFox Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Apart from Wesolowski and Mattock that is the reserve and please get out of here squad if ever there was one.
David Villa Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I hope he does put out reserves out against Mansfield then he will player the bigger players against Notts County
General Smuts Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I hope he does put out reserves out against Mansfield then he will player the bigger players against Notts County Well James Chambers is a midget surely hed be playing friday instead then by your reckoning
Thracian Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I'm hoping Billy McKay and Ashley Chambers get a chance second half. It might give an insight into how far they are off senior level. And Max Gradel of course. The attackers better be on form for sure cos the defence looks a bit flimsy.

General Smuts Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I was considering going but from the look of the squad i can't be arsed and don't wanna waste me money. Notts County instead then methinks.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 They seem to be giving Nielsen plenty of games!. Flappy, Flapples, the big Flap
