General Smuts Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 They seem to be giving Nielsen plenty of games!. Because he's the one who frigging well needs them! He played the full match at Hinckley even though Logan was warming up the entire time in the hopes that he improved i think!
Thracian Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Looks like it's definately more of a game for fringe players rather than for checking out the main team. Anyone going? It's not likely but, as it stands now, 11 of those could conceivably play for the first team this season: Nielsen, Mattock, Gradel, Wesolowski, Porter, Fryatt, Hammond, Henderson, Beswick, McKay and Ashley Chambers. Genuine contenders for a first team squad of 16 would be: Nielsen (I suppose), Mattock, Wesolowski, Porter, Fryatt (if he stays) and Hammond (if he stays). Outsiders chancers are: Gradel, Beswick, McKay, Chambers and Henderson. In just for experience are: Magunda, Cox, Garner and Howard. Playing to be noticed by other clubs are: Maybury, Hughes, Henderson (probably). Possibly playing for their future here are: Fryatt and Hammond. I'll be intrigued to see if MA pairs the experienced Fryatt/Hammond together or goes with youth/experience as in Fryatt/McKay and Hammond/Chambers. Either way it will be iworth watching. And will he go with Weso, Hughes, Porter in central midfield with Gradel, Fryatt, Hammond making a 4-3-3 to demonstrate Porter's creativity in a freer role? That would certainly be interesting although the way the names are listed suggests a straightforward 4-4-2. What a big game for Gradel. He's looked very threatening when I've seen him this season and, given chance, looks capable now of putting Newton under pressure.
Newcastle_Fox Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Just a heads up but I went to Mansfield from Leicester last friday night, I left work at Leicester at 3:30pm and didnt get to Mansfield till just after 6. Traffic was queueing after every junction on the M1, there were no accidents causing the tailbacks I think it was just the sheer volume of traffic on a Friday night, so would advise you to leave plenty of time to spare if your going on Friday.
Blue Bob Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Sounds like a squad that we want the scounts and other managers to go a watch. Will the players have for sale signs on them? Hammond should have BOGOF on his shirt.

Dead right, the M1 is shiite on a friday afternoon, anyone thinking of going would be best to find an alternative route.
He's not bald Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Dead right, the M1 is shiite on a friday afternoon, anyone thinking of going would be best to find an alternative route. That's done it for me,with the squad he's taking and then being reminded how bad the M1 is on a Friday and the fact that we have a game on Saturday it's gonna be the local for 8 pints of Stella and then a kebab...knickers to Field Mill!
Webbo Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Bit of a gamble playing Nielsen IMO. It's only a friendly, doesn't matter if we lose and lets be honest he needs the practice. PS For anyone who wants to avoid the M1 go up the A46 and follow the signs.

Lichfieldfox. Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Anyone know why Andy King (Thrac's love child by all accounts) has yet to feature?
lildave3 Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Anyone know why Andy King (Thrac's love child by all accounts) has yet to feature? He played at Quorn.
Lichfieldfox. Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 He played at Quorn. Thanks for the info - missed that.
lildave3 Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Thanks for the info - missed that. Don't worry, so did I and I was there
fludie Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Yep will be going to this aswell as all the others this season , i dont know why though
Thracian Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Anyone know why Andy King (Thrac's love child by all accounts) has yet to feature? Your tasteless remark is nothing new. But I feel no regret at having stood my ground for some of these youngsters in the face of people like yourself who would have known that King has featured if you'd been at Quorn. Football wise they've been virtually the only light in our tunnel these last two years, certainly achievement wise, and I'm proud of every one of them when I see so many in and around our first team doing their level best to play the game as it should be played. Andy King came on some time into the second half and was his usual competent and constructive self and was involved in events which led to our penalty and second goal. I've mentioned Andy King for one simple reason. Because he's a consistently good player who scored a lot of goals from midfield at a time when our first team were scoring none. Love child? I've also mentioned Conrad Logan, Weso, Porter, Gradel, Beswick, Mattock, Sheehan, McKay, Odhiambo, Lee Cox and Jorrin John. That's one hell of a lot of loving for a guy who's at an age when he'd much sooner have a game of golf. .
Daggers Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 I often wonder how many little Daggers and Daggerettes there may be. Maybe Andy King is a small Daggers? Andrew is my middle name after-all.
The People's Hero Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 Your tasteless remark is nothing new. No - you're quite right. In fact, I seem to recall seeing one about traffic wardens being like the Gestapo fairly recently....
Thracian Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 No - you're quite right. In fact, I seem to recall seeing one about traffic wardens being like the Gestapo fairly recently.... I said it and I meant it. If young enough and fit enough such people who will do anything for money whether it makes people's lives a misery or not are exactly the types who might graduate to be recruits for such organisations. In fact, I imagine they're psychologically a bit like your good self. In need of the sort of power and attention you'd never be given on the basis of any praiseworthy abilities.

You can't dig yourself out of this one. You were condemned and pilloried for your comments and rightly so. Trying to deflect attention away from your own disgusting comments and on to other people will not work. Squirm all you like. Perhaps if you learnt to park your car legally, you wouldn't be such a bitter, twisted man. Just a suggestion.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 a) Your comments matter nothing to me. But enough to reply. One of you needs to be the bigger man here.
Thracian Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 But enough to reply. One of you needs to be the bigger man here. I'll volunteer. I'll make a renewed effort to ignore the guy. But he's like athlete's foot - a mould so irritating you want to scratch it in the end. But I will try to resist.

Kent Fox Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 I wouldn't know - I wash my feet. Psst! *whisper* It's nothing to do with whether you wash them or not. It's about other people's dead skin coming into contact with your feet
