You are correct, but it is a year you have to wait before you can fill the post again. However they can change the duties slightly and give it a different title to get round this. I dont think they have been made redundant, it is more like a sacking or a mutual agreement. It is very rare to employ someone and six weeks later realise that you dont need the position.
