Geo V Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Talking of jobs, Ive got one for the Thracster... http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/JobVa...1075399,00.html
lookwhaticando Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Interesting. The first casualties of the MAllen style?
General Smuts Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 It does seem as if they are the first casualties of the MA's war on mediocrity. Im not sure if this is positive or negative yet
davieG Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Made redundant!!If that's the case under redundancy terms it means that your job will no longer exist, so do we not need any cheif scouts? Should it not have read, "Left by mutual concent" or was the redundancy term just a means of paying them off. MacKay was Sporting Director, so no I guess we don't need one of them, and it doesn't stop them recruiting a Director of Football, they probably decided that Allen can manage without him; leaves more money for players anyway. And I believe Fuccillo was Head Scout for the London/South area so maybe we don't need that either just a bog standard scout will do.

Blue Bob Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Maybe we had had the best of his top tips. Maybe he was responsible for attracting players like Hendrie and Toddy and because they didnt come he took the bullet!!!

Wasn't the scout that was appointed last week appointed to scout london?
Bryn Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 This is concerning news and I feel that the club have a duty to explain what has happened to the fans.

This mean that part of the players training is bog snorkeling.
Simon Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 This is concerning news and I feel that the club have a duty to explain what has happened to the fans. I quite agree. Not necessarily about Lil, because he was here before Milan came, but Don Mackay I am surprised about. Given that he was only a recent appointment it seems really strange to me. I for one would really like to know what happened there.
lookwhaticando Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Actually, if you think about it... Don Mackay is supposedly the Director of Football/Sporting Director... So why was it, that whenever Martin Allen updated us on the hunt for players, he only ever mentioned Mandaric and Tim Davies? Surely, when it comes to hunting for players, he would have reported to the Sporting Director rather than the Chief Executive. I don't recall Allen ever mentioning the sporting director at all ever since we recruited him. As for the scout bloke, if he joined before Mandaric came, it's no wonder he's gone.
Thracian Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I'm more than a little concerned about this - it smacks of being more than a little shit.Either they couldn't get on with Allen or he couldn't get on with them or they were shite at their job. Or, just maybe, they told the truth and spoke out to say that Fowler would be an absolute waste of money. iring policy Whichever way it cuts that is now three appointments that haven't even lasted the summer. That is piss-poor management/hiring policy on the part of MM. If I was Thracian I'd be puckering up a big -3 at this point in time. Still - it gives us a shedload to talk about on Saturday in the pub Can't give a minus. I'm awaiting a call about the scouting role now. Seriously if I had any idea of the reasoning I might have a view but I don't. It's come as a complete surprise. I've no idea if either of them were any good or not. But on the scouting side I know that one member of today's City staff once recommended against Freddie Eastwood (not at Leicester) cos he "wasn't MA's kind of player" so I've no idea what criteria was used on this one.
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 This is a bit bizzare, I don't know what to make of it tbh.

Who's Billy Eastwood?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 But on the scouting side I know that one member of today's City staff once recommended against Billy Eastwood (not at Leicester) cos he "wasn't MA's kind of player" so I've no idea what criteria was used on this one. Is he like a hybrid of Billy Sharp and Freddy Eastwood? That would be awesome. Oh by the way, this is the Milan Mandaric rollercoaster phase 1.

Am I being really thick, or did you mean Freddy Eastwood? Edit: thank god... I'm not the only one who's baffled by that. :D

lookwhaticando Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 This is where you need a hello fans thing from good old martin! Not when it's Mandaric who's wielding the axe.
