I'll still stick by my decsion that if he gets a run of games in the team he will be successful for us. Any striker needs a good run of games to get his head in and build a bit of confidence. None of our strikers have had that really this season. Surprise, surprise our top joint top scorer is DJ with 2.

We need a favoured pairing.

The problem we have at the moment is we have no stand-out strikers. I agree with you that DJ would do well at this level. I know its only a link but the Collins John rumour seems to have something to it and I can see them pairing up and being a right handful. That would mean Hume and Fryatt being dropped or Hume in midfield at the very least. One things for sure, GM isnt happy with the current strikers.

Megson plea to misfiring strikers

Leicester boss Gary Megson is demanding more from his strikers as he looks to guide the club up the Championship table.

The Foxes chief has picked up six points from a possible 12 since taking the reins at the Walkers Stadium, and he feels that there is still room for improvement.

"We have done okay recently, but I think we could have had a couple more points," Megson told the Leicester Mercury. "The worry is we are not getting what we want from the lads up front.

"They are doing well in terms of their work-rate and defensive responsibilities but, not only do we want goals, we want them to get hold of the ball and to link up play.

"It is imperative they do that because, without it, we can't get out of our solid shape into a more fluid formation to go on the attack more.

"But they are all good lads who work hard and want to do well for the team, and that is a good starting point."

You're right.

I'm glad to see him saying stuff like this...

"They are doing well in terms of their work-rate and defensive responsibilities but, not only do we want goals, we want them to get hold of the ball and to link up play.

Past managers such as Kelly would have probably stopped after saying they were doing there defensive duties well. Not worrying about them not scoring. I just hope we can address this problem well, it really should of been sorted in the summer. But I suppose Allen was happy he could get out of DJ what we needed.

John and Campbell could definitely work, but I don't think Hume would fit into Megsons 5-3-2 role, so that could prove an issue.

It is refreshing to hear him being honest but all he is really doing is paving the way for his new signings. He also said this...

"We are trying to get one or two in, but the ones we are going for, others are trying to sign as well," he told the Leicester Mercury.

"We have certain priority positions, which I won't name, but it is always a case of trying to improve the squad.

He doesn't want to name the positions he wants strengthened but has started by slating the strikers lol.

I think we may get lucky and get a couple of decent players in on loan as I don't think players in the Premiership can move to other Prem sides now can they? That would open the door to those who haven't been involved in the first team who want to move on. Lets just hope that some of our recent bad press hasn't scared any players off.

I think DJ could be a good player for us, but for starters he really does need the right service, something which has been lacked so far this season I think.

From the reports we've all heard about him being a worker, I've been slightly disappointed not to have seen that aspect too much yet and I hope he improves on that.

With a run in the side and the right service I think he could do the business.

I still think DJ can come good for us. I don't think he will ever be a cult hero, but he has potential to have some good goal scoring seasons. I think Allen leaving may have set him back a bit, but if he gets a couple more goals, hopefully he can push on and show why we spent 1.6million on him!

Megson should look at some of the reasons why our strikers aren't firing as well. 7 defenders in a team playing long ball with no support up to strikers under 6 ft is never going to consistently lead to goals from them.

Cort is like a burnt fried egg, you know it could have been spot on, but that's unlikely to happen now, so you either settle for a mingin egg cob or bin it and have some pate on toast (Collins John could be the pate).

Cheers

Rascist??

of course not.

I must say, i've never known a fried egg to be used as a racist remark. If it is, then I apologise. I've eaten burnt fried eggs before and they aren't pleasant, it annoys me because it's so easy to cook a fried egg and for it to be plesant. I was likening that to Cort's footballing performances recently.
