Brainy Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Anyone else worried about this guy??I am, TBF ive not seen play but have only heard negative things about him! Im thinking his signing might be the proverbial 'bollock dropped' by Milan I am too..
lildave3 Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Chambers looked dodgy. de Vries is still clumbsy. Overall though our lads outplayed a limited Notts County oufit. Chambers looked dodgy at times I suppose, but after all he is not a left back.
Benji Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 OK when Sappleton ran, did it look to anyone else like he was running in slow motion and then played in fast forward???? I swear his body shacked around when he ran like when you do those flicky sketch books WATCH HIM
Sly Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Not so sure on Chambers, he quite clearly wasn't comfortable at left back. He looked better when Mattock sat in front of him though. Not overly impressed with Hayes, I wanted him to go at people a bit more. Clemance would be my pick for man of the match. Kisi didn't do a great deal along side him, gave the ball away once or twice other than that nothing to note. I thought Newton/Stearman had a solid game down the right. Good hold up play and cross from Newton for Fryatts goal. Jason Lee had the better of N'Gotty and McCauley for the first 15 minutes but that was soon sorted out and they look more than steady at the back. Good goaline clearing header by McCauley. Neither Logan or Nielsen look convincing to me. Logan is overwight and needs to address the issue quickly, Nielsen does flap at crosses and come storming out of his area when it isn't , altough not as bad as I imagined.
General Smuts Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Big Mark was alright I though, not the worst player on the pitch.Interesting to hear someone after the game saying 'that hayes needs his contract ripping up, completely useless he was' after just one game. Especially seeing as he was judged to be one of our best players against Hinckley. He did look unfit today didnt put in the effort he did at Hinckley and looked out muscled by the bigger players, he took a right neating aswell by Weston thier no 30. He seemed to be scared into being shit today and bricked it on a number of occasions instead of trying to beat a player or make a pass. His final ball wasn't quite there either. However i still see him as having a shedload of potential and he could yet turn into a very good signing for us.
Toby or not Toby Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Syston thank god you were watching the same game as me! I was sat in disabled seat, and MA screamed to De Vries....fooking head the ball! Also, before superstar Lee Smith came on, MA asked fryatt if he wanted to cum off, because MA did not want him getting injured!
He's not bald Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 I am too.. Me too,we are going to struggle in the GK dept!
Benji Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 He's out on loan isn't he? I meant in Dodds Leicester career but nevermind the jokes over now, my point has been made, badly.

Pinnapple boy kicked the shit out of McAuley and busted his face in at one point! And wasn't that Chambers? From the corner?

I wondered what he was chatting to Fryatt about.
morris1234 Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 I'm sorry, mostly agree with everyting else but I seriously think you must have got him mixed up with someone else,he's still rubbish and still not worth a place in the side! sorry i dont see any bit in what i said about me liking or even thinking de vries is any good, he just had a good game for his standards!

I seriously doubt that that decision is anything to do with Leicester's plans for the season!
Sparky Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Logan 6 (did everything he had too) Stearman 6 ( handled most things well) N'Gotty 8 (calm influence at the back) McAuley 7 ( fairly good performance but gotta stop beliving he is the new alan hanson and getting caught out) Chambers 7 (got forward well in 1st half , few reckless tackles) Newton 6 ( ineffective but worked hard ) Clemence 7 ( passing not the most accurate but did get forward with some intelligent runs) Kishishev 7 ( like this guy , never gave up and strong in the tackle) Hayes 5 (1 trick pony , could rarely beat his man) Hume 8 ( breath of fresh air to the attack) De Vries 6 ( thought he did ok , couple of nice passes , still poor in the air ) SUBS Neilsen 6 ( dont fill me with confidence) Mattock 7 ( far more effective than hayes) Weso 7 ( usual , broke up play and moved it well) Fryatt 7 ( touch was good and showed good stengh on the ball) Hellings 5 ( not impressed , gave the ball away often) Sappleton 7 ( powerful and looked keen to impress) Odhiambo 7 ( did well , pace in abundance and more movement than the other attackers) DJ 6 ( missed good chance but moved well and will get better for us ) ratings based on todays performance , not writing anyone off yet
He's not bald Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 sorry i dont see any bit in what i said about me liking or even thinking de vries is any good, he just had a good game for his standards! Agreed..but his standards are way below the required standard!
Toby or not Toby Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 I seriously doubt that that decision is anything to do with Leicester's plans for the season! Fryatt replied with a frown and a no no im ok!

He reminds me of Juggernaut from X-Men (aka Vinnie Jones) crossed with Emile Heskey
Stevosevic Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Saw the goals on SSN, good finishing from Clemence and Hume, good dink by Newton for Fryatt to head home.
Wezleylowski Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Ricky Sappleton, Sappleton, Ricky Sappleton, na na, na na na na na na na na na na na Ricky Sappleton, Sapleton, Ricky Sapleton

Thracian Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Ratings: Logan 6.5 (Deceived by the bounce of an early through ball but otherwise was commanding and vociferous, making one excellent diving save, tipping a fierce shot aroun the post) Stearman 7 (Involved and incisive. Clearly back to his best). N'Gotty 8 (MoM contender. Rocklike, quickly and simply efficient, even showed he could pass a few longer balls). McAuley 6 (Slipped and was caught in possession once which might have cost a goal. Otherwise okay and made one ortwo rescuing tackles). Chambers 6.5 (Well involved but more prone to error on the left). Newton 6.75 (Did wonderfully well to beat his man on the goalline and provide the cross for Fryatt's goal. Had one other eyecatching run but failed to find a finish). Clemence 7 (Opportunist goal which he took coolly. Typically influencial) Kishishev 6.5 (Another solid, uncomplicated performance) Hayes 5.5 (Nothing worked for him and he was subbed at half-time. Didn't attack people at pace or feed his pases quickly enough. Suggestions that he might be better than Porter looked extremely premature on this show. Hume 9 (Another goal, his third and a near faultless display of non-stop commitment in so many phases. Seems already to be lifting his game to a better level). DeVries 7 (One assist and generally did much to link the forward play). Significant subs: Fryatt: 7 (Started the move which led to his excellent goal. Certainly didn't look as if he didn't want to play for Leicester. Contributed well enough when we'd lost the ball. Generally reaassuring). Wesolowski 9 (Immense. Restored our momentum and was forever available as the "out" man. Launched a succession of attacks is fast starting to look classy with it. One trick pass with his back foot so nearly provided a second goal for Hume) Odhiambo 7 (Should have scored with a floated right footer which beat the keeper but flew high and wide. Involved in two or three excellent moves and demonstrated that he's well able to cope in the comapny). Mattock 6.5 (Replaced Hayes and made one surging run which might have produced a goal. Generally sound). Sappleton 6 (Acceptable start. He's certainly a presence). Hellings 6 (Steady) Neilsen 6 (One shaky moment when he was left stranded outside his area but otherwise okay). DJ 5.5 (Not on long. Missed his one chance).
morris1234 Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Agreed..but his standards are way below the required standard! then were in agreement! de vries is still shit!
Wezleylowski Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 What tune is that too? KC and the sunshine band- Give it up GIve it up Starts on about 40 seconds
General Smuts Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 KC and the sunshine band- Baby give it up Really? How so? Was more like the Pearl & Dean advert before films at the cinema.
Brainy Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Could be to that Christmas song.. Cant remember the name though..
Guest ttfn Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Logan 7 (Had nowt to do apart from one good stop) Stearman 7 (Good going forward, defensively average) N'Gotty 8 (Solid as a rock, good passer too) McAuley 6.5 (Not one of his better games) Chambers 6 (Looked like a total liability in the 1st half, good 2nd half tho, especially once he switched to right back) Newton 7 (Exactly what you would expect, we saw it all, the good, the bad and the ugly) Kishishev 7 (Looked solid, good tackling - the sort of 'water carrier' Johnson was supposed to be) Clemence 8 (Very good display, he seems to be a good battling sort, took his goal nicely) Hayes 4 (He was awful) Hume 7.5 (Energetic and very useful but I'm still not sure he deserves the ridiculous hyperbole some people thrust on him) de Vries 7 (I think he's rubbish, but today he held it up well and linked well with Hume) subs: Nielsen 5 (Worrying with crosses) Mattock 7 (Beat his man repeatedly, think we might be on to a winner here...) Fryatt 7 (Same as always, worked hard, good 1st touch etc. My Gran could have scored his goal though) Hellings 5.5 (Got stuck in, but wasn't convincing) Wesolowski 7 (Seems confident, good passing, tackling and energy) Sappleton 6 (Animal) Odihambo 5 (Out of position) Campbell 6 (Looked lively, can't help but feel that £2 million is a rip off though. Only time will tell)
