Daggers Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 This thread has reminded me of a very special Viz character
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 I think we should sign TBJS to replace the birch as half time MC, we've been lacking depth and class in that department for years. I think I'd be good at this, I'd make half time exciting, something to look forward to and not cringe through, a bit like crisps, lots and lots of of crisps and other potato based snacks. I'd throw penny shrimps into the crowd and make all the children happy.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 You've posted some comical stuff in your time, but this is up there with the best of them. It's post like these that make your opinion in football a force to be reckoned with. I agree that Heskey could do a job in defence, he was solid against Sheff Utd on the last day of the season..... If we could pick him up for £250k fine, but get real Thracian its the most unrealistic prospective signing ever!!!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 I agree that Heskey could do a job in defence, he was solid against Sheff Utd on the last day of the season..... If we could pick him up for £250k fine, but get real Thracian its the most unrealistic prospective signing ever!!! That's the massive flaw. He was solid because Sheff Utd were desperate and were just pumping it long for him to head clear every time. It was nothing like the average game.

It was nothing like the average game. But in this div??? We could use him upfront and at the back as and when... but still its all BS cos at 4 mil its never happening.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 This is totally ridiculous, we would never get the bloke and why play him in defence when he has been a good striker all his life, 20 mins against Sheff Utd and suddenly he has changed his position. I say we get Billy Sharp and/or Freddy Eastwood, they're still available aren't they?
Flynny Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 All you need is a fairly competent player as far as this division goes, who knows the position. We had Alan Rogers at left-back last time we got promoted FFS. You'll never guess who's without a club! :w00t:
Thracian Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 You'll never guess who's without a club! :w00t: Careful Flynny. There's a few on here might want him back!
mancunianfox Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 I've got more chance of partying with Oliver Reed than Leicester have of signing Emile Heskey and playing him as a central defender. Plus Heskey is only 29...hardly in his twilight years. He would be awesome in this division as a striker but it isn't going to happen anytime in the next few years because he is good enough for the premiership.
Graz Posted 7 August 2007 Posted 7 August 2007 I know that this should probably go in transfer talk, but thought it was relevant to this post.. Newtonfox on TB says Emile is actually a player we're looking at at the minute! He did say he doesn't think it will happen though
