I agree - I think he will leave before 31.08.07 - so why not us??? We were prepared to throw silly money at Robbie and Jimmy - well how about a Danny instead???

You'd have thought so, you'd have hoped so... guess we'll have to wait and see, i get the sense that a lot of clubs might be sniffing around him, although the fact he hasn't moved already suggests the serious offers are coming from the championship rather than lower end of the prem (which strikes me as baffling!.. coz he's still a pretty decent and useful player at that level IMHO).

If that is the case you cant blame the guy for waiting. Hope he is still a possibility for us.

Were we the first club to have an interest in him? I hope he doesn't go to Cardiff like Fowloer and Hasslebank, >_> Spongeing off our clubs hard work.

Lets hope most of the people who need the type of player that Murphy is have already signed someone and we are one of only a few possible clubs for him lol On a serious note, he would be mad to rot in the reserves for the Spurs as he is simply wasting his career. OK earning silly money lol but still his career is going down the pan.

Leicester have launched a £1.5m bid to sign unsettled Tottenham midfielder Danny Murphy. (Sunday Mirror)

Not sure about a slow news day. Only five days til the transfer window closes and the Sundays are always choc-full of transfer stories at the best of times. Fingers crossed this is as true as the Allen out stuff in the NOTW today is bollocks.

You can pick and choose from the red tops, but the "Allen Out" stuff does smack of lazy journalism (perhaps some concern in the club at a slow start to the season - but nothing more at this stage), perhaps the Murphy rumor is the same... but i think we'll probably look to strengthen in one or maybe two areas before the window closes and with a player like Murphy i can imagine we're competing with lots of clubs and he's a player of the sort of caliber who wont move till very close to the dead line (if the only move on offer is from a club like Spurs to us)... so some reason for optimism i guess :)

Oh yes. Please, please, please come off.

Think we still need one or maybe quality signings to really push on to be a promotion chasing side (neither wing is really fixed yet). If DM can come in and play wide on either side that will be superb. In fact if he can play left and Ka'ibi right then that will be one frightening team.

Who would you drop from the middle to accommodate Murphy or would you play him wide?

I don't think there's any way you can drop Clemence or Wesolowski. They boss the park together and it would be stupid to disrupt that. I'd try Murphy on the left and see how it worked out. A player of his quality should be able to influence the game from there.

Definitely. That would complete our team.

Never!Murphy should play in the center and act as our playmaker, if he ever turns up! Personally i would drop Weso, thats not to say he is playing bad at all, but these are the kind of nice decisions that great managers get right.

Wrong thread but lets bloody well hope he comes!

I was confused why nobody had already posted it.

I dunno if we need him with Wesolowski and Clemence playing so well together. £1.5mil is a lot of money. I think unless a good left winger becomes available, we should come out of the transfer market til January and see what we need then. I think we have decent squad depth.

Weso and Clemence are not as good as Murphy, simple as. Murphy would walk into our central midfield even if Clemence and Weso are the best we've had for a long time

Ok we dont need Howard!! and hes played every game for Derby so far why would he come here?.

Murphy will be a qaulity signing and i think he will play out wide, we are still weak on the left and Murphy has played there before, infact he played well there a few times for spurs last year! I cant see clemence, kishi, or weso playing out wide at all. unless Allen is going to play 4-3-3 more regurlarly then it would make more sense, we need 3 CM's then and kishi hasnt been great so far. kishi out murphy in and we stick to 4-3-3 with an RS and an LS like we did yesterday

Well I didn't mention Howard but I'd have him here at the drop of a hat also.

sorry the Howard rumour was posted further up the page by babilon, i mis-qouted. both would be good additions but tbh Howard in the premiership playing regurlarly on a big wage, would you leave?

Murphy yes please!!!! Howard did well last year so i wouldnt say no, but we have enough strikers already.
