Brainy Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 Beckham scores for LA Galaxy on his full debut Quality free-kick it was too.
Ashley Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 Quality free-kick it was too. It was a great free kick, I hope he plays next week for England agaisnt Germany.
TheBlinding Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pr_qwkmWukI Good goal but what was the keeper doing
Brainy Posted 16 August 2007 Author Posted 16 August 2007 He was going where most free-kick takers would try and put the ball.
TheBlinding Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 He was going where most free-kick takers would try and put the ball. Yeh but he shouldn't have gone that early, he's supposed to be guarding that side of the goal. The wall is there to protect the near post. A lot of free kicks go in the keepers side now anyway, especially when it's close to the goal. The amount of bend on it the keeper would have struggled even if he hadn't gone running across his goal.
Micky Ruddle Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 1st La Galaxy want him out, now he is god. True - Football fans hey, who'd be 'em
potter3 Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=n1L4EJMAZMM&...ted&search= The crowd obviously went crazy
Joe. Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 That's Beckham for you. I expect to see him bag a few more like that this season playing against keepers of a lower quality
Geo V Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 So how many touch downs did he score in the end zone again?
samingram_uk Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=n1L4EJMAZMM&...ted&search=The crowd obviously went crazy Wow thats was bad, all i could make out was a few screams and some claps.

It is pretty odd goal keeping. Mind you they aren't the greatest in that league, and they wont be used to anyone hitting free kicks at them like Beckham, they amount of curl he gets is silly.
Geo V Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Football? In the U S Of A? Pppfffttttt Its turning into American football though as in his last game I think he set up 3 in a 5-4 loss . Next game 10-8 and at this rate the Americans will have what they want with 4 quarters and about 20 goals a game
davieG Posted 24 August 2007 Posted 24 August 2007 Why do we have to put up with the BBC and other news programmes reporting on this tin pot mega rich football club. There are plenty of sports, successful ones at that in this Country they could cover in their short sports news bulletins with out giving more air to them. Haven't they got enough trying to cover the sport in England, and those scum bag sporting nonentities of Scotland, Wales and NI (just for Finners & Bartan ). It really pisses me off.

It really pisses me off. including The Championship!! this is in a similar vain to my Beckham post the other week the whole lets get into the MLS rubbish is making me sick, Like Lovejoys programme giving a prime time slot to coverage of a very very poor league with some very poor players and this whole Soccer USA frenzy just bores the life out of me. infact you could probably say the MLS now gets more coverage on mainstream tv than the rest of the football league put together which is a bit of a shocker imo
purpleronnie Posted 24 August 2007 Posted 24 August 2007 I like the MLS signings like beckham and denilson are showing how they have progressed in only 13 years. Most clubs are building their own stadiums, and places like toronto have 1000's of fans on the season ticket waiting list. Every team has large supporters groups who stand and sing all game its great. The MLS will (already is) a big success and it won't be long before they are up there with the best leagues in the world. Only problem is no champions league football, I think a worlds champions league would be better anyway.

And think of the flying time, jetlag issues and costs. A no-brainer.
