MC Prussian Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 I don't know when it's coming out in Europe, but if you get a chance seeing it in the near future, do it! Probably the best comedy this year, filled with crude humour, with a likeable cast of typical high school losers that make it big one night. On the quest for booze, three young guys experience the best night out ever! It was shot in L.A. for most part (based on a script by a Vancouverite) and the people over here on the West Coast are LOVING it! Word of mouth passes on so quickly here - almost every show is sold out. Great laughs - especially for boys, but give it a shot going to the cinema with your girlfriend, too - she may like it as well!

Talking of overrated comedies. I watched Dodgeball the other night and don't think I even sniggered once.

The People's Hero Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 I think perhaps I'm just getting older, pickier and losing my sense of humour.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 I think perhaps I'm just getting older, pickier and losing my sense of humour. You and me both then mate.
The People's Hero Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 You and me both then mate. We should make a movie. I'm pretty sure we could come up with a script which would appeal to at least *some* people. And by that, I mean, Mablo would probably go to the cine... err buy ... errr...rent it.
Daggers Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 Key points to watch out for (comedy that isn't funny): Adam Sandler Anything about crashing weddings, finding love, getting married Anything about vacations Chevy Chase Anything that is a remake of Bilko Anything that is a remake of The Pink Panther Anything about losing virginity Anything about wackiness at "college" Anything having large families Goldie Hawn Hugh ****ing Grant Jim Carrey Anything involving kinky boots Anything involving men stripping off Any remake of a classic Ealing comedy

Although I have to admit I have had more laughs watching porn then most comedies these days!!!

I'm adding Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn with the caveat that yes.. I did find Anchorman funny.
Master Fox Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 Jim Carey.... Ace Ventura pet detective is one of my favourite films.
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 Dude wheres my car is a understated piece of genious.
The People's Hero Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 Dude wheres my car is a understated piece of genious. Bearable in patches. I really am losing my sense of humour aren't I? I didn't even find Austin Powers funny last time around - I just want to dress like him. I am a bit of a fan of Mike Myers, even if he has made some absolute pap in his time.
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 They should make a film about me and fez rolling into London apartment blocks a 4am and abusing Forest fans in their own homes. EDIT: Rolling in drunk, obviously.
Lord Nibblington Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 Jim Carrey is going to play the lead role in a film version of Yes Man. I fear this has already ruined the film. Which is a shame.
The People's Hero Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 So what we're driving at here is... has anyone got any pirated dvds they want to send me? Nothing illegal of course. But as a non-alcohol drinking (at the moment), broke loser, I need something to do with my evenings.

Alexikokopops Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 Key points to watch out for (comedy that isn't funny):Adam Sandler ... Jim Carrey Thank fook someone agrees with my on Adam Sandler. Everyone I know seems to want him up the wrong 'un. Jim Carrey gets away with any scorn though merely for Ace Ventura.

He makes me laugh everytime.
The People's Hero Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 The only truly awesome films ever made are 'Twins' and 'Big'. Discuss.
Alexikokopops Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 The only truly awesome films ever made are 'Twins' and 'Big'.Discuss. Turner and Hooch.
The People's Hero Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 I watched Withnail and I the other day. Didn't know what to think, quite honestly.
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 I watched Withnail and I the other day. Didn't know what to think, quite honestly. Interesting, I have just ordered the second season of the X-files. I have the last book in the Dark Tower series to read. Gears of War, Forza Motorsport and Bioshock to get through. And I never have any time to do any of these things anyway. Having money is great. You can sell my shorts on Ebay if you want? Match worn by Manwell Pablo, should fetch a bit.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 The only two films I like are Smokey and The Bandit.
