Lineker's Left Foot Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Why do we always seem to concede a goal in the last 10mins more in comparison to every other 10minute phase ?? it's been like this, even when MON was in charge??
Kip Riptide Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 I think statistically speaking, that most goals are scored in the 80-90 minute time period. So this happens to all teams. We seem to concede more than our fair share late on though and are definitely doing a fair bit to drive that stat up...
Stevosevic Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Megson cost us today, poor substitutions.
Ozwin Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Because I swear every manager we've ever had decides to sit back instead of chasing the second goal like we should. Just carry on playing like we were doing when we scored and we'd have been fine, why'd we have to slow it down and let them come back at us?
Wooly Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Shame he wasn't managing today? Any chance to get a dig in though I suppose. Pathetic and embarrassing.

Joe. Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 They were pretty poor substitutions.... And it's the classic sit back when you go 1-0 up syndrome. Cost us the game.
purpleronnie Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 80-90 minutes isn't when most goals are scored. But it is against leicester. I think the players know this and become increasingly nervous. They have to learn how to kill a game off, they should watch some italian football.
Mark Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 We did alright until Gary Megson cost us 2 points already with his trademark tactics. QPR were shocking.

Yes he was, if you looked at the dugout you could cleary see him talking to the players etc, he may not of picked the 11 but he made the subs.

Well IMHO we've been paying for admin and when we punched above our weight under MON

Churchill Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Today was shocking if we want promotion we need to be beating teams like them
Lillehamring Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Megson cost us today, poor substitutions. rubbish - conceeding a goal from nowhere cost us - the substitutions had nothing to do with that. clemence hit the bar in the last 5, didn't he. maybe the subs didn't help but they're all profressionals and all capable of playing a winning game.

The substitutions certainly did not help our cause at all, certainly Kishishev on the left wing, it left us very vulnerable down the left side.
Brainy Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Today was shocking if we want promotion we need to be beating teams like them Quite embarrased that I was thinking we could go up this season
Churchill Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 I had big hopes for this season but now im feeling worried more than anything
Milky Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Isn't it funny how as soon as Taggart came out to shout instructions, we started playing defensive and shit No doubt he'll escape any criticism. For me, the defensive substitutions send a message to the whole team. It's a mental thing. When players see defensive players coming on it flicks a switch in their head to go defensive. It sent out all the wrong messages.
Staf Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Today was absoulutely awful just like last year
Churchill Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 I agree its really does make you worry and makes you think will we ever be back up in the prem

Lillehamring Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 I agree its really does make you worry and makes you think will we ever be back up in the prem come on, it's way too early, this is a fresh team getting to know each other - we could have been 4th today depending on results, its way too early and way too tight to write us off...
