To be fair though, it's not the players first league game is it? There's all this about a new manager and a new tactic or two, but the players can still play, a new manager doesn't mean the players need teaching how to play again.

The players need to sort it out just as much as the manager IMO. The thing to look out for is how they pick themselves up in the next game, that'll show how good a manager Megson actually is.

No, it isn't their first game. For most of them, they have been here for a few years. And we have been in the wilderness for... a few years!

Whats better? A 4-1 win at home to Watford (Allen) or a 2-3 victory over your rivals in very strange circumstances (Megson) ?

What did Allen do here? He may have changed the flowers outside the training ground, but his record here in the league was W 1 D 1 L 1. Megson has D 1 and L 1. Seems pretty equal to me.

I saw a member earlier say Megson's record in this league is poor. What? 2 promotions and 1 relegation, and that was a relegation with a club who were in the relegation zone when he took over. Seems better than Allen who managed to get a few sides to the play-offs and then failed to deliver from there. His so called 'negative' football got West Brom promoted, twice, and already after 3 games you want him out. It's pathetic. This isn't Megson's side. If he's still here next season, the majority of the squad will be his own. Then we'll see what he's capable of.

For fear of being controversial Thracian, I feel part of the problem is us having to play the very players you champion for the first team - they do not cut the grade yet and they add to our first team just not being good enough. A side looking for promotion needs to have quality higher then the likes of Mattock, Sheehan, King etc - in peace

Against Blackpool we played well and had 20-odd chances and could have easily won 3 or 4 nil and it have replicated the Watford match. The first half of forest was terrible though.

Against QPR we were dire, against Forest we were dire, against Charlton we were dire.

Allen may not have had the results, but the performances in general were very good and things were coming together.

We are still only a few points off 6th with a game in hand. It's very early on. Let's not completely over-react here. Hopefully with time we will eventually settle on the best 11.

We can win the next 2 league games. They are both at home, hopefully Megson will pick the right team and we will play strong attacking football. Forget the cup we need to win these next 2 league games. Megson will hopefully realise the shit players from the good now after Charlton game. If he can pick the right team we will be ok.

I know we didn't score today but we need to make sure we pick the same strikers for 10 or so games and they can actually form a good partnership.
