MPH Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Only if we offer him another deal on equal wages. MM will do that. he isnt a player that he'd like to see the back of, yet will get rid of for a few quid im sure
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 MM will do that. he isnt a player that he'd like to see the back of, yet will get rid of for a few quid im sure I doubt it he will. And even if he does, Louis can turn it down, go elsewhere, it'll go to tribunal and we'll get about £8,000.
Thracian Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Thracian says alot of things.Such as "David Connolly is worth 10 million pounds" I also said he'd get 15 goals for his first senior season and he's on course for that - despite being played away from the main striking spots which is loading the dice somewhat. Irrespective of whether Dodds stays or goes his comments are a condemnation of the first team set-up at our club which is now so ordinary and unadventurous as to be embarrassing. It would seem that we're about to embark on the 3-5-2 era now and there's some shouldn't complain because some have made it perfectly clear that boring 1-0's will be quite okay if they get us promotion. I preferred to hear about Hill-Wood at Arsenal saying how they used to win 1-0 but how much more he loves watching football under the managership of Arsene Wenger and is thrilled at how the team entertains their fans. Dodds is well out of Leicester City and knows it. He never got a chance because Kelly didn't have the bottle to give him one. Kelly preferred Horsfield and was so good he got sacked without really daring to attack once for any period of time during his whole period in charge. What a condemnation. We'll see what Megson does. But I'm not holding my breath. And I doubt Dodds ever will be. Sixty-five goals in three seasons yet so many fans - many of whom never saw him play - can only rubbish him. We deserve the shit we're in because it's plain as can be that some folk don't want a football club and don't rate anyone who doesn't cost a fortune and come from some fancy club or place. Whether they see them play or not!!!!. Some would take any fancy dan from off the streets. We even preferred Cadamarteri to Dodds. Others just want a team full of hackers and harriers. So long as they come with some potted history that sounds impressive they they don't give a toss whether they can play football or not and every mistake is conveniently ignored or forgotten until the truth finally dawns. Well bulldog spirit is fine. But it would have got us nowhere in the War had it not been for help from America and it will get us nowhere as a football club without some specialist expertise from people who score goals and make things happen. Wherever they're from.
Nationwider Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Another five-years' worth of time and money falls off the Academy conveyor belt and into the skip marked "What the hell is our Academy for exactly?" I suppose winning the FA Premier Academy (orwhateveritscalled) is great, but if all the decent U18s at other clubs are playing actual proper football with the grown-ups and turning into Gareth Bale and Gabby Agbonlahor and Ashley Young and Micah Richards, then it's Fools Gold really.
MPH Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 I doubt it he will. And even if he does, Louis can turn it down, go elsewhere, it'll go to tribunal and we'll get about £8,000. he is saying this now, about wanting to leave so we would have nothing to lose by offering him another deal... But come a cold winter night visiting one of the lesser teams and stadiums coinciding with an upturn in our fortunes... who knows. It might come back to bite MM on the bum.

Manwell Pablo Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 very weird comment. He's just upset Louis Dodds is a League Two player, nothing more nothing less. Thats where he is, thats where he belongs, thats is where he will stay. This therefore means Thracian is wrong. He doesn't like being wrong.
The People's Hero Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 This therefore means Thracian is wrong. He doesn't like being wrong. Which is a bit like a bird not liking having feathers.
Finn Claw Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 If he does well this season or at elast for hlaf of it it would be good to see him in League 1 sooner rather than later. If he does well there then maybe he has a future with us. I've never really seen him play much so don't want to call him garbage quite yet. Can't be worse than Cort though and he played in the premiership and was worth £7million at some point.
Thracian Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 very weird comment. In what way? Because if this club doesn't change it's thinking on what comprises a football team and get someone in to effect that they'll get nowhere. We won't bully and harrass our way out of this division now because even we'd need to buy too many players and because there's too many competitors with Mandaric's sort of money. On top of that we won't score enough goals and that was plain even in the summer. The fans can effect change. With a concerted effort they could force some attacking ambition on the club. But no. They won't do that. And while the club can sit back comfortable in the knowledge that dreary 1-0's will be acceptable however shit the football I fear they'll keep choosing that route because it's been that way for years apart from Allen and look what happened to him. Just one question. What was the last time, Allen apart, that we chose a manager with any idea of how to attack with any sort of attitute?.

When the geordies payed 7 million for him, Carl Cort was scoreing goals, in the Premier league.

Thracian Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 I know! I Know!David Pleat I'm right aren't i? Okay sod the attacking managers! Hill-Wood did say there were so few about!
Milky Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Leicester obviously didn't want him. Surely if he was good enough for this club, the likes of Beaglehole and Rudkin etc.. who have been with the lad in the academy would've spoke up at some point over the last couple of years. Yes, his record in the academy has been very impressive, and i'm very disappointed he didn't get a chance in the first team, especially when the likes of COG were starting games. In a way i wish he did get a few games for us so we don't have to hear the myth of Louis Dodds every week for the next few years.
The People's Hero Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Stephen Dawson is the next Roy Keane you know.
Milky Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Stephen Dawson is the next Roy Keane you know. Dawson turned us down aswell. Apparently.
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Dawson turned us down aswell. Apparently. Have to say it's certainly furthered his career.

Manwell Pablo Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Is that so we can persist with other, more expensive, myths? they're better players, this is why they play at a higher level.
Milky Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Is that so we can persist with other, more expensive, myths? Like the 250K Elvis Hammond who caused "havoc" in his 10 minutes against West Brom reserves. For the record an over weight Ronnie Wallwork was at centre back
samlcfc1 Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 im glad that hes happy, but could have been a great prospect
samlcfc1 Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 i mean for the first team he never even played
Thracian Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 they're better players, this is why they play at a higher level. Is that because they wear longer studs!
