barmy76uk Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Dodds has joined the Imps on a temporary basis from Championship side Leicester but, after spending time at Northwich Victoria and League One outfit Rochdale last season, the 20-year-old would welcome the opportunity to sign on the dotted line at Sincil Bank. "Lincoln play a lot less direct football than we used to at Leicester," he told the club's official website. "It's a lot better for me here because we try to play the ball around the midfield so I get more of the ball. "I would love to sign for the club permanently if they wanted me. It's a good club with a nice set-up and we play the right kind of football. "I have set myself the target of getting into double figures for goals and to play 30 games over the course of the season."
Master Fox Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Great news. I know we're shit and everything, but he's not really in a position to comment about the style of football the first team plays. Did he even get a game?
hebangsthedrums Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Link? If he said that then get rid, no point having players who don't want to be here. 50k and a sell on I guess
barmy76uk Posted 25 September 2007 Author Posted 25 September 2007 bye bye Therican may cry! He likes the way Lincoln play there football!

Manwell Pablo Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 I'll be honest. I'm going to miss the mullet of love.
Finn Claw Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Let him go and loan for the season and then decide if we want to sell, if he bangs in 20 goals we may well want him back. Not too fussed, though if Thrac is right he is a legend in the making

Such as "David Connolly is worth 10 million pounds"
ronnup Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Good riddance. balls to him. Never getting a look in really is he.
breadandcheese Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Great news.I know we're shit and everything, but he's not really in a position to comment about the style of football the first team plays. Did he even get a game? Not sure about not being in a position to comment on the style of football the first team plays. I'm nowhere near my first-team call-up yet I comment all the time. Anyway, Dodds is not wrong about our direct style and he should know if it suits his game or not. If he moves on, fair play to the lad. He clearly wants to play which he won't do at Leicester as he's down the pecking order. Can't fault a footballer for wanting to play.
Kent Fox Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Good luck to the boy. He will learn a lot and come back a beter player hopefully. He has to say good things about the type of footy they play, doesn't he. He can't say, "yeah, I am staying here but it's only because LCFC don't need me right now. I preferred the way LCFC played their game, more direct. Lincoln play stupid football but at least I will look brilliant"
Koke Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 He was never given a proper chance with the first team here. But good luck to him anyway.

I think you may have misquoted the boy
The People's Hero Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Sod him then, ungrateful little oik. That's the direct football of a Championship club you're dissing Louis - and a team you couldn't get in to.
Eastern Fox Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Sod him then, ungrateful little oik. That's the direct football of a Championship club you're dissing Louis - and a team you couldn't get in to. What should he be grateful for? He scored plenty of goals at Academy/Reserves and a fair few on loan and never got a look in the first team when buffoons like Hammond were playing. Not really disappointed that he's going, but I think he deserved a proper chance. And it's true we play terrible football-and so far we've got nowhere playing hoofball defensive crap.
MPH Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 keep him out on loan. if he plays well then his price goes up. everyone has their price.

Nothing like burning your bridges is there? Besides, Thracian likes him..
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 keep him out on loan. if he plays well then his price goes up. everyone has their price. Well techincally yes. Louis's would be £0 however as he's out of contract.
The People's Hero Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Well techincally yes.Louis's would be £0 however as he's out of contract. I might buy him, just to spite Lincoln. And Thracian. I wouldn't play him either and everyday I'd wake him up at 3am and tell him he's sh it.
MPH Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 Well techincally yes.Louis's would be £0 however as he's out of contract. but isnt he under 24? if so we still can get a fee for him.
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 September 2007 Posted 25 September 2007 but isnt he under 24? if so we still can get a fee for him. Only if we offer him another deal on equal wages.
