Blue Bob Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 Mix minds on this one, sure we have key players out and to pick a point up against a side that beat us 4-1 not so long ago isnt too bad. However 8 points from 8 games is relegation performance and that is worrying!!!

Typical Megson affair. We can't expect Hume or Fryatt to pull something out of the bag every game, and we're averaging less than a goal a game with Megson (Forest excluded). It's the receipe for disaster.

Lillehamring Posted 2 October 2007 Author Posted 2 October 2007 at least it's not getting any worse - you could argue that we've bottomed out - lets not forget that we haven't lost many games with the current set of players across the competition, i get the feeling that if it goes in a direction other than draws, wins is now more likely than losses... just concerned when this change is going to happen....

If he ruffled a few feathers but that is exactly what our club needed as far as I'm concerned. The club seems to be back in the Craig Levein/Rob Kelly comfort zone. I've posted this on the 'Match Thread' but we're down there. I'm already finding myself looking at the live tables to see if we've dropped into the bottom three yet. The feeling's the same as the last two or three years. Leicester City are on the edge. Our current total of eight points from twenty-four is very, very poor and equates to 48 at the end of the season - NOT ENOUGH! We bring in new managers but it makes no difference. We don't suddenly get a 'lift' and start winning games like other teams do. Managers come and go. On the playing field Milan's millions have made no difference. WTF is going on?

WTF is going on? yeah, but who knows what allen would have got from these games... and besides, milan hasn't been the biggest spender in this division - you have to keep in mind what he started with, team wise...

Maybe Allen wouldn't have got any more - who knows - but his signing off league match was pretty decent! I'm concerned that if you put the players that you have bought on three year contracts and MM said that If we're not in the Prem within three years then he has failed, somebody obviously thought that these were the players to get us there. It doesn't seem like they are at the moment.

It doesn't seem like they are at the moment. by most accounts, the watford game was after he was on the way out... but certainly the players aren't performing: that said, a clean sheet is always as good as it gets defensively, and as i said in the starting post, we had our two best players, our two most creative players missing.... i guess i'm starting to look for the positives again...

Joe. Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 ONE win from 8 games, it's not good enough I'm afraid. Overall, I suppose a point and clean sheet against Wolves isn't bad. It was a very scrappy game, and bad football from both sides for all the first half and some of the second. The good thing was Wolves never really looked like scoring and I was very surprised at actually how bad they were. Leicester weren't too much better, although dominating the second half we didn't create too much. Yet again our arsehole section of fans booed at half time/full time and when Carl Cort came on. I'd actually like to give Cort some praise tonight, he came on and looked decent. Not bad, but we need to start picking up 3 points.
blueoveru Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 The first half was terrible with the ball in the air more than on the ground, they had big defenders in the middle and with Fryatt and Hume up front it dont take much working out who was getting the best of that battle, quite surprised how poor Wolves were, couple of excellent saves from Fulop, but, better second half but we never really looked dangerous at any stage of the match, and they only threatened us a couple of times .
Anish Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 Building from the back is what Levein kept harping on about and look where it got us. Clean sheets won't win you games if you can't score. I'd rather one win one game 3-0 and lose the next 3-0 than draw two games 0-0 and 1-1. The fact is we've scored 8 goals in 8 games, and that's including 4 against Watford. Under Allen we scored 6 goals in 3 games. Under Megson we've scored 2 goals in 4 games. And that's with the same bunch of players. Megson's already had an impact and it's not good.
filbertway Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 We played technically 8 in defence when wolves were on the attack, they're obviously going to find it hard to score as will any team, it does look like a team will need to be flukey or pull of something special to score against us/beat us. But when we're attacking we've got nothing really and we'll only score if we're flukey or pull off something special. All in all average, stearman was poor everything he touched went otu of play just about.
