Bert Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 No I'd imagine they'd ring me at 9am (fukers, I'm asleep, f8ck off) tell me the pitch is flooded and that they are sorry to inform me that my booking has been cancelled and I am being refunded.I will then spend the next 3 hours frantically trying to stop people travelling half the length of the country to attend something thats been cancelled. OR: We go anyway, because no-one will be on the pitches, as the council will have informed other teams that no games will be on, meaning we're guarenteed a pitch. Who cares about a bit of water?

Who cares about a bit of water? Depends how bad it is. Besides some people want the pitch pre booked as they are coming from a long way away. If theres a risk the council will kick us off they may not want to come. We'll see I doubt it will come to that anyway, if this "heavy rain" forecasted for today is the same as the "heavy rain" forecasted for Friday night we should be fine . Unless it's pissing it down in Leics today and dry in Ibstock

Hullfox Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 I'll play in hale, tbh.I'm Welsh. We don't understand "dry." You're Welsh. You don't understand hail either!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 If the game's not on we will be forced to go to the pub instead. ****'s sake.
Simi Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 7 day forecasts change everyday. I'd rather the surface be a little wet to be honest.
Manwell Pablo Posted 21 January 2008 Author Posted 21 January 2008 7 day forecasts change everyday.I'd rather the surface be a little wet to be honest. a little wet is fine, water logged is the problem . I'm only saying this because they've had problems the past few weeks apparently.

Floating Fox Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 Went past Viccy Park today, the grass looked damp, but not water logged. It'll cut up like mad towards the latter end of the game though. Lets hope this "heavy rain" doesn't show.

If the council were moving games to Viccy park last weekend as it was the only decent playing surface I don't see there being a problem.
Finnegan Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 You're Welsh. You don't understand hail either! I was just testing Mablo.
Scow Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 If the game's not on we will be forced to go to the pub instead. ****'s sake. I'd be gutted.
Hullfox Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 I was just testing Mablo. That sir is an unfair test.
lildave3 Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 Ha ha what a weather contrast to last year eh? Well Joe, i'd say that'd be the difference between the summer and the winter.
General Smuts Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 Whats the plans post match? Meeting up with the wags and getting slaughtered?
Micky Ruddle Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 If there are any dropouts for any reason could i be a reserve please? Just a thought.
syston_fox Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 7 day forecasts change everyday.I'd rather the surface be a little wet to be honest. Little wet as in the pitch at Roundhill and Wreake after a bit of rain? I remember a great game of Rugby at wreake on what was more like a lake than a pitch
Simi Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 Little wet as in the pitch at Roundhill and Wreake after a bit of rain? I remember a great game of Rugby at wreake on what was more like a lake than a pitch Those pitches are awful. I'd love a bit of water on the pitch, makes sliding a lot better.
C-man Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 I go to college next to Victoria Park. Would anyone like me to give daily pitch inspections? is it the same pitch as last time or do we not know yet?
syston_fox Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 Those pitches are awful.I'd love a bit of water on the pitch, makes sliding a lot better. We played on wreake a couple of weekends ago and it was a nightmare - could hardly stay on our feet. Remind me to stay away from you if you're into this sliding malarkey - "friendly" game!
SamL Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 I might be playing in this match as Potter may drop out. Does anyone mind if I have Potter's place if he drops out?
