Fox in a Box Posted 24 October 2007 Author Posted 24 October 2007 Joe Royle, Grayson or Dowie. Any of them three with TAGGS and WALSHY as coaches
dandannieldanok Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 Not sure why people still want Dowie, Cov had a lucky patch at the start of the season but some of their performances recently have been awful, and they have lost two games 3-0 at home.
Raj Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 Dream team of Tags,Walshie,Lennon,Izzet,Claridge,Heskey(player/coach!) and anyone else available!!!!
Master Fox Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 I reckon we should just get Peter Reid over and done with. Knowing our luck he’ll probably go onto to be the greatest manager in our history

Manwell Pablo Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 Seems like we've been doing nothing but talking about our next manager for nearly a year now. Russel Slade as always, doing a cracking job on little reasources yet again this year. Aside from that, pffft I dunno. I suppose I wouldn't be too upset with Dowie, Gary Johnson wont leave Bristol City. I should think the Martin Ling rumours will surface again as well. Fed up with this shit.
Simi Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 Really tired of this but i'd be tempted to let Taggart and Walsh have a crack. Might be a disaster waiting to happen but Steve Walsh would not stand for this and he's not play negative football either.I hate myself for suggesting it, it's the goobers choice every time we need a new manager but having listened to what Walsh has to say about us in recent times, he hits the nail on the head and is not afraid to upset the applecart. It WOULD be a disaster Micky Adams, Simon Grayson or Gary Johnson.
Number 6 Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 Grayson or Ince for me. Grayson is overachieving with a newly promoted Blackpool team and Ince is doing a great job at MKs
breadandcheese Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 If/when Megson goes, does this mean Gerry becomes our caretaker manager? That's quite a step up from part-time radio commentator/football hospitality/doing a bit of work with the youth. At this rate, Ali Mauchlan will probably be applying.
Ric Flair Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 Ince or Newell. I'm on that as well. Good call.
dandannieldanok Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 It WOULD be a disasterMicky Adams, Simon Grayson or Gary Johnson. Finally someone has seen the light.
breadandcheese Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 I think the favourite would have to be Dowie. Milan is known to have been keen on him before, Coventry are desperate for money, so the compensation from Bolton would come in handy and I'm sure Dowie would be keen to leave the sinking financial ship that is Coventry. I don't think Dowie's appointment would be a disaster. I'd hope for one of: Dowie Newell Johnson Ince (I'm still not sure about him. He has spent big for league 2 and we haven't really seen him under pressure)
Fez of Mahrez Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 I was keen on Newell in the summer. Ideally would like Gary Johnson but I'd question his mental stability if he actually wanted to join us, which is very Catch-22. The same goes for Grayson. Ince would be hilarious. Dave Penney, Martin Ling, both gambles really given lack of experience in the very two divisions we've spent our entire history disgracing. Not convinced by Dowie but would give him support.
act smiley Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 There's plenty of decent managers out there, but none that would come to us. I don't think that we could tempt the likes of Grayson and Johnson. Slade is a good shout mind, but I doubt we could get even him with all the faffing about thats being going on recently - I get the feeling we'll end up with someone incredibly disappointing and quite possibly someone currently out of a job. The thing with Newell is that he's always struck me as the argumentative type, so if we did get him, I don't think he'd last that long.
Ultra Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 A rumour on LCFC Online suggests we may land Martin Jol! Don't think he'd bother with lower-league football, but may be worth a discreet enquiry if/when he leaves Spurs.

Manwell Pablo Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 If we appoint Adams I'm going to start cutting back on games big time. I don't say give him a chance, he's had his chance.
Jack Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 If we appoint Adams I'm going to start cutting back on games big time.I don't say give him a chance, he's had his chance. He got us promoted though and we actually won games at home
Brainy Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 That was when there was less quality in this division.
