maddog Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Steve Walsh Did own a golf course in spain , now commentating on radio Leicester None but neither did Gareth Southgate His heart and soul is in the club, he is the only manager who actually wants to manage us to help us. He has been watching the games so will know about players, if he was serious about trying to manage us he may have been taking notes before hand at all the games His reputation as a player will not be ruined if he fails as a manager. Says what he thinks, passionate for club, all the fans love him etc Can motivate the players and be a great leader. He's thick a bit, but im sure he will become one of the top managers in the world if he gets this job . He will probably need support from someone like Carlos Queiroz but we may have to settle for Frank Burrows. Come on Milan get him in

hairy Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Ex-Leicester player: Ian Marshall Current status (if known): In Canada doing golf tours, I think. Bring him in from the wilderness! Management/coaching experiences: He has a family and a current driving licence (not sure if he could rive the team coach though). His post match interviews would be something to record, cherish and show your grandchildren. Reasons to suggest suitability ie strengths: He is exLCFC which seems to satisfy most people on this board. He is mad, so we could call him Mad Marshy which is a brilliant name for a manager. Its hard to understand what he says too which is always a bonus. Reasons to suggest otherwise: Cost of the air ticket from Canada. We would be fools not to give him the job.

Fat Ron Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Ex-Leicester player: Junior "Crap" Lewis Current status (if known): Coaching Kids at MK Dons Management/coaching experiences: Has badges which would make him "qualified" to do the job as that seems to be a real sticking point. Reasons to suggest suitability ie strengths: He is really tall, He used to play for Leicester, he worked with Peter Taylor so must be good, did I mention he is really tall?, he has his coaching badges, he knows the game (sort of....), he worked with Dave Bassett so must be good, he knows the Walkers stadium from his time here so wont get lost in the 1 way system in the Town, worked with Mickey Adams so must be good, he is really really tall, only been relegated once so is better than Dowie, Was part of the "Premiership" team Mickey had here to get us promoted from the Championship AND... he is so tall. Reasons to suggest otherwise: He was/is ****ing Crap. He is so tall he looks like the Giraffe on Madagasca... Other than that I like him.

He's here, he's there, hes only at fooking Fulham in the Cup!! Don't do it Waller! Don't see anyone touting Claridge for manager, even though he's had far more experience than Walsh. Claridge proved that good players do NOT always make good managers!
Boycie Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Don't see anyone touting Claridge for manager, even though he's had far more experience than Walsh. Claridge proved that good players do NOT always make good managers! But their are alot of good players who have shown that they are and were good managers like Keane, Bruce, Robson, Keegan, Dalglish and alot more so...

Ex-Leicester player:Frankie Wortho Current status (if known):Probably Horizontal on a Beach Management/coaching experiences:Once went to London with National Express Reasons to suggest suitability ie strengths:Cuz he was a naughty boy with a Goalie's misses Reasons to suggest otherwise: Looks like an extra from Life on Mars Any other posts/threads on ex-Leicester sh itters to be closed/deleted please. Ultra Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 In most of the cases you mention (Keegan was the exception), the players went straight into management after playing. Indeed in some cases they combined the roles for a while. Walshy chose instead to go into business, where to date he has been less than successful. His failings there would be magnified many times over if he entered football management. If he really wants to return to the game, let him find a job coaching schoolkids or in the academy, the same as Taggart did. At the moment, he hasn't got the qualities needed to manage ANY league club, let alone us!
