By then we will have a 60,000 stadium, after bringing 3 more tiers on the upper tier of the east stand.

Is there still not a very small chance that we might get the World Cup in 2010?

Very small, they reckon the Aussies will get it if South Africa don't sort themselves out.

The chances of England ever hosting a World Cup are pretty slim, alof of English grounds are surronded by narrow terrace streets and lack big open areas for coperate sponsoers to fill the area with stalls and marketing gimmicks, which is what FIFA want.

It depends on who is willing to make the largest bribery payments!!!

Thats quite shocking to be honest, its all about money at the end of the day. England has one of the most passionate sets of supporters with one of the well recognised leagues. Would be quality if we had the world cup. Would most stadiums improve on what they have already, like the german stadiums.

I don't quite understand how Brazil could host it in 2014. They're one of the poorest countries in the world aren't they?

Not really, in fact they are one the so-called BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China) which are 4 of the fastest growing economies in the world...

Sure there's a fair amount of poverty, but there's also some vast wealth generation going on too.

On average, no. You'd have to go through half of Africa and South America first.

Don't particulary want england or britain to host the WC, still bad memories of the face painted morons who took over in euro 96, and god forbid skinner and baddiel who make another tacky song that the jester hats will sing but have no real sense of what they are doing.

I hope Australia get it or Brazil.

There are advantages of hosting the WC though, tthe chance to see other teams I would like to see Germany and Italy, and USA.

Also won't have the stress watching england trying to qualify.
