Fat Ron Posted 31 October 2007 Posted 31 October 2007 Neil Lennon appears to have left Forest.... New City boss maybe? or part of the set up at least?? http://www.forestfans.net/index.php?showtopic=12375&st=0 Another slant on this rumour is the manager and Lennon had a bust up over him (Lennon) wanting to join up with Gerry Taggart at Leicester. There's a bit in the Guardian about Lennon today. Neil Lennon is on the verge of quitting Nottingham Forest and returning to Scotland four months after joining the club from Celtic. The former Northern Ireland international missed last night's game against Oldham Athletic at the City Ground and was heading back to Glasgow for urgent talks with his representatives. The midfielder has been unable to settle in Nottingham and is understood to want to move closer to relatives in Scotland.

Yesterdays Nottingham paper said he had left Notts and had recently been battling "depression" they linked this in with a return to the north and missing his family but hinted at a state more clinically associated. Hope he's ok....... especially if he's returning to Leicester.....
harpendenfox Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 He has spoken very openly, and rather impressively, about his ongoing battles with depression. Sounds a bit like some of the battles that Trescothick has had. Just goes to show. These guys may have more talent that most of us mere mortals put together at their chosen sports, but it doesn't mean they are free from self doubt and anxiety. It's probably something we should all think about before we write posts along the lines of 'AN Other is the most talentless player to play for Leicester and he can f off now'.
STUHILL Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Could you imagine a coaching team of Taggart, Walsh and Lennon, with a big name manager like Jewell Would be amazing spirit and Leicester heart. Think Lennon is back off to Scotland to be with family though and not sure Walsh would be wanted with no badges but still...I can dream!!

Elvis Hammond is the most talentless **** to play for Leicester and he can **** off now'
Ultra Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 Elvis Hammond is the most talentless **** to play for Leicester and he can **** off now' Witless, and not strictly true... You ever see John Curtis or Nathan Blake?
The People's Hero Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 Elvis Hammond is the most talentless **** to play for Leicester and he can **** off now' Witless, and not strictly true... You ever see John Curtis or Nathan Blake? Both of those players actually had some talent and played in successful teams at one time or another. Bassett brought Curtis in because he'd played well under him in the past (perhaps most notably when Bassett took Barnsley to the premiership, somehow). Nathan Blake was always a decent(ish) forward. Quite simply by the team he rolled up at City he had more important things (to his mind) on his mind. And most of it was white and powdery.
Ultra Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 Curtis may have had some talent at one stage, having started his career on the books of Man U. But it had all long gone by the time he came to Leicester (under Micky Adams, though Bassett may have had an influence). Oh, and Bassett didn't actually take Barnsley up - that was Danny Wilson. They did lose a play-off final to Ipswich under Bassett, though.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 Witless, and not strictly true... You ever see John Curtis or Nathan Blake? Talk to me when elvis has nearly 150 career goals!
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 Elvis Hammond is the most talentless **** to play for Leicester and he can **** off now' Disagree and although as much as I can't stand Elvis; he does seem to pop up with the odd important goal however.
Ultra Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 Talk to me when elvis has nearly 150 career goals! He's scored more times for us than Blake did!
Simon Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 He's scored more times for us than Blake did! I think that rather depends on whether we're talking about goals or something entirely different...
Mr Happy Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11727_2835044,00.html I reckon this might be the cause for Lennon's bout of depression No but seriously I do hope he recovers soon, its just sad to see a former player of his calibre at such a low league level in a depressive state.
Alexikokopops Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 He's scored more times for us than Blake did! Nathan Blake played 15 games for us. Elvis Hammond has played 71 games for us. I should bloody hope he's scored more goals, given that he's played over 4 times the number of games! What a ridiculous thing to say.
FilboFox Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 If Lennon came to be part of the coaching staff at Leicester I'd be THRILLED! Gerry and Neil back together with Frank at the helm... sounds good to me!
Webbo Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 If Lennon came to be part of the coaching staff at Leicester I'd be THRILLED! Gerry and Neil back together with Frank at the helm... sounds good to me! The man's got clinical depression, how does that qualify him as a good coach? PS ffs change your avatar, I'm getting depressed looking at that ginger tw@t.
Flynny Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 I'd be wary about putting someone depressive in a position of power at the club. The inherant instability that a person like that can cause through no fault of their own isn't worth taking a risk on, even if he is a Leicester Legend.
csadfox67 Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 you have more chance of jon lennon coming ere than neil. dream on ! i say let birch have a go at it, least he would get em playing football like we did wen him worthy n co were ere !!!!!
Phil Bert Fox Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 Elvis Hammond is the most talentless **** to play for Leicester and he can **** off now' Shall we start a 'Crappest Player ever to Play for City' thread? Or has it already been done, Ive only been here a short while.
